yeah sure. you would be supprised at what you can run it on, but it does take some tweaking even on the highest spec rigs there is alot to gain from tweaking that you need to look into

I think it's the map that changes the time of day to look so good.

You do need Vista for that. Tinkering with the settings can only do so much under dx 9. I think what makes it this good is dx10 effects.
