  • you make guitars, lets see some of them....

  • Very nice...

  • bias tubes to 150 via standby switch.. search web for method @ tubestore i think

i have this one old ecc83 tube that i loved for years. its labeled Groove Tubes and ecc83. whatever it is really it is magical in position #2 . but it may be gone now or going ? will save its carcass in hopes someone can tell me what it is

    this video sounds great... classy

  • what are your settings on your legacy? cause for some reason whenever i switch to my neck pickup it always gets muddy and idk how to fix that. its starting to piss me off cause whenever i have intentions on playing fast runs and sweeping it gets to muddy and it just drives me insane..plz help

  • @young0wylde0child What guitar and pickups are you using?

    Presence: 7

    Treble: 7

    Mid: 6

    Bass: 5 or 6

    Drive: 7

    Volume: to taste

  • @8bigtubes I custom make guitars so its one of my own(very high quality) but i am using a Evolution in my bridge, A Blaze in my neck then a custom carvin 7 string single coil in my mid(its based off a jem body and set up)

  • @young0wylde0child Try turning the mids down to 5. It should help clear it up some.

  • hey man what were your settings on the legacy?

  • HERE I GO AGAIN ON MY OWN!!

  • isn't difficult to control a rack?

  • whitesnake !!!!!!!!!!! ftw

  • Isn't Sykes's solo...Vandenberg Play this!!!

  • Good tone, it has some Sykes vibe.

  • Thank you kindly! It really does sound better in the room.

  • @8bigtubes Cool, all these Carvin Legacy amps seem to have a dark kind of tone to them, not in a bad way though. I don't know how to describe it, it's almost demonic!

  • @dance2noise002

It's really not that dark sounding an amp tbh. It's my crappy recording. The Legacy cuts beautifully in a mix and it's not dark at all IMO. Yes it does have sort of a low-mid emphasis but in person, it's really not dark.

  • @dance2noise002

I own one too and I agree with the dark character and it is a good thing.

  • can you share you settings? i think it sounds really nice

  • No problem!

    Presence: 6

    Treble: 6

    Mid: 4

    Bass: 6

    Drive: 7

    Volume: 4

  • I use the G-Force in the loop to control overall volume.

  • its not muddy at all....what you're hearing is a 'brown' sound...like a modded plexi.

  • NICE! WHITESNAKE!

  • Thanks!

  • is the gain all the way up?

  • Nope. The gain was at 7

  • Did you know VHT is now known as Freyette Amplification. The Legacy is awesome But the Freyette Deliverance has to 1 of the top 5 amps used.

  • Yes I did know.

I love the Deliverance amps! I used to own a VHT D60. The only gripe I have is the lack of an effects loop. Other than that, the amp was near perfect for me.

  • Yeah, but for the price of a Deliverance you could buy two Legacy heads and run them in stereo.

  • lol I do :) with a 22 ms delay to the left side. 1 half stack on each side of drummer. Sound in unbelievable :)

  • Really nice sounds dude! I've been considering about buying that amp too. It sound so damn good! Can I ask what effects/things you have in your rack?

  • Thanks dude! All I have in the rack is an Ebtech Hum Eliminator, TC Electronics G-Force, Roland SDE-1000 and a VHT 2150

  • at least 0:00- 0:11

  • Dude, are you in a hurry? If not, I'll try to get a video up of the parts that you requested this weekend. Sounds good?

  • thanks!! yes, please!! rock on!

  • dude, the vid?? where?

  • Sorry dude. I've had gigs all weekend and Monday so I've been really busy. I'll try to get the vid done asap!

  • where did you learn here i go again in that form?? ive been hunting for tabs forit all day!.....anyway .......................NNIICCEE!

  • Thanks dude! I learnt it by ear from the record

  • where did u get the rack case

  • It was many years ago dude. Sorry but I forgot.

  • haha its fine....nice playing btw!!

  • Thank you kindly sir!

  • please help me in any way!!.. i need that tab!! or just some way i can learn it!!! PLEASE!

  • could i get a sound like adam jones from tool with the legacy and can it do real heavy riffs with it and is it a good amp for all styles

  • I don't listen to Tool so I really wouldn't know but the Legacy is a darker voiced amp chock full of mids so if you want that scooped Mesa kinda tone then you'll be better off looking elsewhere.

  • mesa's actually are known for having lots of mids available... but im pretty sure the majority of people just scoop them all out

  • Depends on which Mesa. The Mark series Mesas have mids to spare. The Dual and Triple Rect will still sound scooped even with the mid knob at 2 o'clock compared to a Legacy or a Bogner Ecstacy for instance.

  • Hey, I just got a Legacy and a Splawn ProMod and a Soldano SLO, 4x12 legacy cab with greenbacks, 2x12 legacy cab with vintage 30's. Going to do a wet/dry effect I think but will experiment. I think I may use the Splawn and SLO for my rhythms and the legacy for my cleans, then use all 3 for leads alternating, dunno. Got a Jem 7VWH and a PRS Modern Eagle on the way. Can't wait.

  • Thanks for the kind words everyone!

FYI, I've ditched the Keeley TS9DX for a Xotic BB Preamp and I couldn't be happier! So much more transparent and flexible with the active EQs.

  • nice!!!

  • Daaaamn, that sounds great.

  • nice set up.

very good whitesnake song as well.

    well done

  • Thank you kindly !

  • What are your settings on the TS9? I have one and I have been thinking of selling it because I can't find good settings and my Keeley Ds-1 seems to dial in what I want.

  • Hot mode, toggle switch down, drive off, level set for a slight volume boost, tone at 1 o'clock

  • Really nice tone, do you recommend those amps? Im about to buy a new stack, and I've been considering if I buy Mesa boogie rectifier with the cabinets, or should I test these Carvin legacies too?

  • It really depends on what kind of tone you're after. The Legacy and the Rectifier are worlds apart in terms of tone.

What kinda of music do you play ?

  • i agree i ideally would like to have both... ive got a triple rectifier (stupid loud)

the legacy has great cleans and incredible lead tone but in my opinion it doesnt have a very good rhythm tone... thats where the rectifier kicks in... huge amounts of gain and its got great rhythm but the cleans are sub-par, and smooth leads are hard to get out of it...

    they compliment each other perfectly..

i agree with 8bigtubes... what kind of music do you play?

  • What tubes are you running in the legacy?

  • Power: Ruby EL34BSTRs

    V1, V3 and V4: Ruby 12AX7C5

    V2: Sovtek LPS

    V5: EH
