  • hmm valve overhaul? new piston, quwaaaa ive seen these on the internet, the piston and valve stuff is like £160, pays literally to care for the engine. like mine ive not got the head off but in pretty sre im gonna need some new valves!!

  • Time for rebore, new piston, new conrod, little end, shells.New valve guides, valves and either recut the seats,or if you can fit new valve seat inserts.Depends on how it was originally made.Poor things had a hard life!! Was the crank ok? How did it tuen out in the end? What did you replace/machine?

  • @silver760 got a new old stock piston that was 60 thou oversize, and got the block bored out and fitted it with a new gudgeon pin. I had the valve guides machined out and lined with bronze liners, got the seats recut and got one new old stock inlet valve, and machined the original inlet valve down to suit the exhaust. The bottem end was fine, conrod main bearings etc...

  • judging by the state of the oil in the other vid, i,d say that she had never had a oil change in her life, poor thing, any wonder she,s u/s, fit new guides and new valves and get another rocker bar and that,ll sort the top end out, what was the main bearings like living in that sludge for years.
