Hmmm would you choose the sensitive poet/actor or the hilarious witty comedian? Tough choice! I have a huge crush on both of them and don't think I can pick. I will say if I had a harem Viggo and Stewart would both be in lol
Viggo's awesome but it's obvious he's uncomfortable in a public situation, and his effort to enjoy himself probably disappeared once he starting picking stuff out of his water
Viggo's awesome but it's obvious he's uncomfortable in a public situation, and his effort to enjoy himself probably disappeared once he starting picking stuff out of his coffee
@astroclast When he, Legolas and Gimli cross a large area (whose name escapes me at the moment) he was named 'Swiftfoot' by Eomer. He was constantly being renamed lol
@astroclast Yep. He worked for Boromir's grandfather Ecthelion and had this rivalry with Denethor because Ecthelion preferred Thorongil over his own son. He also worked for Theoden's father at around the same time, and disappeared a couple of years after Boromir was born.
@AtheistDoctrines admittedly he is one of the best things going in that film, just by virtue of... you know... being Viggo Mortensen, but yeah he was in that
@abusawood Danish, nowegian and swedish are very similar languages. even though a dane have never heard a norweigan speak, he would probably understand him, and vice versa.
@FernandoLuis191 Not to split hairs here, but he is American. Born in New York. He did spend many childhood years in Argentina and other locales before returning to the States. Probably what people are thinking of, is his partentage when they speak of Danish or Argentinean. I don't blame any country for wanting to claim Viggo as one of their own. (His parents did give him thoses Danish, Viking chisled good looks.)
He feels more at home in Argentina than he does here. Why you may ask? because he's only here for business, he grew up 11 years of his childhood there which it still reminds him of his infancy. I have come to noticed that he speaks a flawless spanish than he does in english. Even thought he was born in New York, he's more Argentinian than American, it shows in his personality.
@bradskaalama Alright to settle the arguement...he said himself on david letterman that he lived in argentina for the first 11 yrs of his life...which doesnt make him argentinan but he technically is from there!!!
@loloulouilouise Viggo might be of danish decent. But he is not "DANISH". He was born in New York and has only been in Denmark briefly during his childhood. So you can't tag him as "Danish". He's american!
He speaks danish fluently... He family is from there and he is embedded in the culture. From someone who was born and lived away from my home county take it from me, he is as danish as he is anything else.
@sexntuna Well, He is a Danish Citizen, so I think I can tag him as DANISH. His father is danish, and he has lived in Denmark and speaks the language fluently with danish accent as well. PS. Im danish too :)
@bradskaallama he lived in ARGENTINA till 11 and He speaks spanish like an argentinean,His football team is SAN LORENZO from argentina and he drinks MATE from ARGENTINA, so I believe he is more ARGENTINEAN THAN DANISH.
@masterpatric07 Hm.. Is he an Argentinean Citizen? No, I think not. He is a Danish Citizen, and he said in several interviews that he consider himself Danish, so really. STFU.
I'm noticing a pattern here. All the more nice and down to earth actors are the ones who got started late and were not famous for a long time. Viggo was in his forties by the time he got his big break in LOTR. Another good example i think is George Clooney, who got his break in ER in his thirties.
@KelsoStyle19 sure he was acting in movies, he was doing damn good acting (you ever see The Prophecy?) but that's not what "big break" means. I'm talking about when he got FAMOUS, not when he got good
Man, what a good movie that was. I read the graphic novel and the movie is actually better. There were two movie posters, one was a ridiculous action shot of him jumping to the side with a gun in his hand. The other with a rear shot of a man was a gun facing Mortenson, who is standing in front of his family with a desperate look on his face. That second one captured the movie perfectly.
"you may have just gotten yourself unlaid." I actually think it's a good way TO GET LAID in my book. I'd love a man to do that to me any time, any place, any where. Viggo is so hot!! OW!!!
I'm pretty sure; in one interview Colbert was doing, the man he was interviewing mentioned Tom Bombadil (a character from The Fellowship (not the movies)), to which he recited a song the character sung, seemingly from memory.
It would be a little impossible to say for sure, considering the tremendous power of TV Magic, but it would not be that far-fetched.
@Simonsuper1 No, he was born in NY and lived in Argentina for 11 years and also spent some time in Argentina. Check this out if you don't believe me. VM with Letterman.
Jon Stewart as clearly misunderstood "Crash". I'm slightly disappointed. The film was beautifully true to the book, and not only that, but brilliant in its own right. And saying it's about people who like to get into car crashes because they like to have sex with amputees... that's just completely wrong.
@PuppetInsignificant - the movie crash that he's talking about and you, literally forever impacted me in some way. Very odd, but yes, beautiful movie. Its def a subject I was introduced to for the first time when i watched it.
@Taramw32 English is not my first language, so can you please explain to me the meaning of this phrase, and another one something like :" i have never seen someone as handsom go low brow".
@uliqed "low brow" means a kind of low, dumb or silly humor. A joke that's uncomplicated and doesn't require much thinking about but is still funny. Jon Stewart is joking that he expects someone as handsome as Viggo Mortensen (true, true) to use more complex, higher-thought jokes. Hope that helped!
@sejad1000 I don't think you've watched many shows in your life if you're saying this. Even if you dislike Jon Stewart's brand of humor or the show's "left-leaning" slant for very important political reasons, you'll still find much more ill-conceived programming worthy of the "worst show ever" title out there.
Viggo is funny, in LOTR he pranked the guy playing Theoden, kissed Billy Boyd, bought a horse for one of the girls, loves lizards- and is a great actor. What a guy!
