Yes yes, it's stupid and crazy and non-nonsensical. But no less so than many beliefs in the west about how cell phones and microwave ovens and such kill you. I wonder if they'd laugh the the stupid beliefs of the rest of the world.
@DrBuzz0 I don't know anybody who believes that microwaves and mobiles kill you. True, some suspect that there may be a link with cancer, but no sensible person completely believes it because it hasn't been proven. This fan death shit is pathetic.

The rotating iron in the fan excites your personal angels, who would normally fly out the window to go do good deeds. Instead, frustrated, they get pissed and kick your ass.
This is why bodies of fan death victims so often have signs of "grave torture" (see vid in my favorites).

Wow, I've been sleeping with a fan blowing on me in a closed room for 53 years, 365 days a year.

Yep, ran into a similar culture bound syndrome here in Turkey, if you eat ice cream or drink cold water in winter you will die.
Wet hair is also fatal apparently.
