  • xxcharmed, Cheryl is more than "just a replacement." She saved the show after Farrah told the fans "screw you." Cheryl was very popular as Kris Munroe. She is more popular than Jill Munroe and even Sabrina Duncan. The ratings were higher when Cheryl came on the show, and the Kelly, Kris, Sabrina trio is the longest running. Cheryl had dolls and toys, and several episodes revolved around Kris Munroe. She has a huge fanbase who helped keep the show on top. Cheryl never abandoned the show.

  • xxxcharmed, Cheryl Ladd being on the show for 4 years made Charlie's Angels what it was. Kris belonged on the show. Jill was just a visitor.

  • And Farrah was not a long-term Angel. Cheryl is more of an angel. We got to know her much better. Plus, Kris had more depth and substance than Jill.

  • Kaykay, Cheryl was there for 4 years of the 5 year show, and Kris, Kelly, and Sabrina are the most popular trio to most of the CA fans. Farrah Fawcett is just pimped more to the non fans of the show.

  • Kaykay, that's not true. When I and many, many, many others think of Charlie's Angels when tend to think of the longest running trio, and Cheryl Ladd who was on the show for 4 years.

  • i heard that kate and farrah never got on i can understand why

  • my god these two actors are hot

  • I agree. However, Cheryl Ladd is equal to Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, and Jaclyn Smith. She is a popular Angel, helped the show stay on top, and she committed to years on the show. She was a very important part of the show. And should always be included. But I do think it would be nice to include Shelly and Tanya as well. However, Cheryl should be compared to Jaclyn Smith and the others. Cheryl helped the show after Farrah didn't care about the show and left.

  • @Youttubi i totally agree,farrah didn t give a damn

  • Cheryl Ladd should be there. It's cruel to leave her out.

  • Lol!! This was kind of funny, lol!!!

  • I wish TV could be like it use to be. INNOCENT. These babes rocked my world as a young man. They helped me face who I really was a young boy. I wanted to make love to all of them, but something in my brain did not allow me. Later in life I figured out why. I was gay. Farrah rocked.I had the poster like every boy did. I remember catching every episode like clock work. Jacqueline Smith I made u dinner at Red Lobster in Toronto. Kate Jackson one of the masterminds in the show's development, nice 1.

  • Farrah was so charming, sweet and funny.

  • oh no- cheryl - yUK, SHE IS ALL OVER THE ROAD. I COULD NOT LIKE ANYONE ASSOCIATED WITH JILL. I think the original cast is ALL it need's .

  • xxcharmed1xx, How would you feel if you worked and commited to your work place for years but was never given credit for it, just because you are not the "original" worker? Shunning Cheryl is not only disrespect to her but to her fans. Cheryl should be there. End of story. .

  • @Youttubi: I agree with your statement. But if they include any of the other angels besides the original angels, they need to include them all: Cheryl, Shelly, & Tonya (or at least OFFER to do so). I always wondered why they never reunited all the angels together for a tribute AT LEAST ONCE.

  • xxcharmed1xx, it doesn't matter if Cheryl wasn't an "original." That is not important. Cheryl stayed on the show for 4 years. She was committed to the show for 4 years, and never dumped the show. She is very popular and beloved equally as Kate, Cheryl, and Farrah. It's dumb to keep leaving her out just because she wasn't on the first year.

  • During the summer of 1977 it was announced that Farrah Fawcett, would not be returning to the hugely successful series Charlies Angels. The premier episode with Cherly boosted the highest ratings the series ever saw. Not so much because of Cherly but because everyone wanted to see how the writers would explain Jill, Farrah's departure and what role the new angel Kris, Cherly Ladd would be playing. Cherly, Kris played Farrah's, Jill's younger sister. A behind the scenes a personal jab at Farrah.

  • @settle4more We meet again, but on a different Charlie's Angels video. When they selected Cheryl, they didn't feel that she or whoever they hired would be warmly received because the fans loved Farrah so much and would miss her. So, they gave Jill's a kid sister. Their reasoning was "How can you hate the kid sister of someone that you love?" That was pretty smart! I was crushed when Farrah left, but I've always loved all 6 Angels: Jaclyn, Farrah, Kate, Cheryl, Shelley and Tanya.

  • Cherly was always bitchy on the set sources reported. Kate blew up often. Jackie was caught in the middle having always been soft spoken. Jackie is such a lovely lady! After a year working with Cherly, Kate had enough and left the show. Poor Shelly was compared to Cherly Ladd as they were both blond. During Farrah's return court ordered episode deal, Shelly & Farrah had no scenes together. Shelly was unceremoniously fired for not being sexy enough.

  • @settle4more Kate left the show because they wouldn't release her to do a movie called Kramer vs. Kramer which she was offered, but she had to turn it down because of the show. That was the last straw for Kate. It's a shame that Shelley and Farrah didn't have more scenes together. There were like 2, and in one scene, they were celebrating Charlie's birthday. It's sad that they let Shelley go, and it's not her fault. It's the producers fault. Jaclyn and Cheryl were both upset about it.

  • @Beautifulmusiclistnr

"How can you hate the kid sister of someone that you love?"

Aaron Spelling had said that in an interview when they were doing a profile on the shows he produce back in the 70's. Yeah that was pure genius on his part because the show's 2nd season ratings were just as high as the 1st season.

Even though Tanya Roberts (IMO) didn't have any chemistry with Jackyln and cheryl, I always thought Tanya Roberts & the late Vic Morrow did and should have had their own series.

  • @gun15509 You're correct. It was genius on Aaron's part to give Jill a kid sister. I wish they wouldn't have made Tanya's character "street smart". She s/h come from a police acadamy like the others! lol Tanya and Vic did have chemistry, but toward the end of the 3rd season, they should have brought in Shelley THEN, and fans would have started liking her sooner, and it would have been a smooth transition after Kate's departure & Shelley wouldn't h/b fired at the end of the 4th season.

  • @Beautifulmusiclistnr: good post! I agree completely. They didn't take the time to figure out her part of the "Really really smart angel." It was not fair at all, I saw the problem immediately and remembered thinking then "WHAT ARE THEY DOING? WHY DON'T THEY DO THIS OR THAT....." I liked your post. Very well said.

  • @Chrliesangelsman Thank you! They were able to survive after Farrah left bringing Cheryl in as the kid sister. They saw Kate's departure coming & they s/h prepared better, and they s/h brought in Shelley Kate's last season. Everyone would have had a chance to fall in love with her, but they didn't. Her acting was fine. They gave her almost no lines her first ep (Love Boat). I saw a Shelley Hack Video in your channel, and I thought it was good. Again, Shelley was very underrated.

  • @Beautifulmusiclistnr: everything you said is EXACTLY correct. They blamed her acting, which was total b.s. The "Love Boat Angels" episode was originally supposed to showcase Shelly Hack as "Angels In Paradise" was to showcase Cheryl Ladd, but for WHATEVER REASON that did not happen, and if left the viewing audience feeling like even her peers didn't warm to her, so how was the viewers expected to respond?? It was very unfair, as you said.

  • @Chrliesangelsman Thank you again, and I agree with what you said. "Love Boat Angels" s/h showcased Shelley, but Cheryl had the biggest role with Bert Convy. It d/n give people a chance to, as you say, warm up to her. I know that the other angels did like Shelley. What if, instead of firing Shelley, bring on Tanya, and Charlie could have said "Once upon a time, there were FOUR little girls who went to the Police Academy?" They were probably too tight with money & maybe they d/n think of it!

  • @Beautifulmusiclistnr: Well, it would have been a radical change in the show, all the way to the opening credits, logo, premise of angels, etc etc. However, they were in BAD need of fresh writers. I know that Jaclyn & Cheryl liked Shelly and were saddened she was treated so poorly. I think she was a wonderful replacement for Kate (although I DO like Kate, and hated to see her go) if there was to be one. Many of the scripts were suited for Kate, and wouldn't work for Shelly, (cont'd)

  • @Beautifulmusiclistnr: (cont'd - 2) but they went on with the script anyway. Then when that wasn't working, they decided to focus on each angel in an episode, cutting down screen time between the 3 angels together. That was a disaster. Shelly was not even given much screen time until the middle of the season, which REALLY made it appear that her co-stars didn't even bond with her. And VIEWERS SAW IT THAT WAY. It was a lost cause after they did that. It is TERRIBLY sad they did that to her.

  • @Chrliesangelsman You're right! It would h/b a huge change to have 4 angels and not 3, but it would have worked. They needed fresh writers, and Shelley was good for the show, I thought, and nobody wanted Kate to leave. I wish they would have made Shelley's character more assertive. If they want to talk about acting, I loved Tanya, but her acting wasn't so hot, but she was! lol It was wrong for them to focus on each angel as the show went on like you said. They s/h shown them as a team. more

  • Jaclyn Smith is SO pretty.

  • When you see all 3 together, you can see they still have such chemistry. sweet.

  • Watch SATURN 3 to see Farrah in a towel :)

  • I like Cheryl Ladd and I did like Kris Monroe a lot...But she wasn't one of the original angels. It's not that she wasn't important or didn't add to the show. She did. But when you think of Charlie's Angels, you do tend to think first of the original three: Kate, Jaclyn, and Farrah.

Now, if Cheryl hadn't come around after Farrah left, I do think the show would have been canceled sooner than it was. Was losing interest when we lost Kate. The first three and later Cheryl made the show.

  • I can't agree with you more. I have posted similar comments on vairous uploads. I do understand the importance of the "ORIGINAL" fact. However, you are absolutely right about Cheryl. In that respect, all the other Angels should have been approached for reunion appearances. My respcet goes for all the other casts who say nothing negative about it. It must be unpleasant to be almost ignored as if they never existed and receive close to no credit to the success of the entire series.

  • It's a fact that Kate Jackson did not like Cheryl Ladd, there for she wouldn't do a reunion with Cheryl. The 3 original actresses became very good friends during & even after the show. Kate would only do a reunion unless Farrah & Jaclyn did with her. Watch the Charlies Angels documentary where Cheryl says Kate never "warmed up" to her.

  • They are all great. Kate has had many health problems with her heart, and breast cancer. Farrah has died from cancer. May she rest in peace.

  • pretty women!!! They all are remarkable!

  • Sorry to say this to some, but Cherly was just as important as the originals, and had to replace an icon.

  • She wasnt part of the original angels, just a replacement.

  • The ratings went up after Cheryl joined the show. It's wrong she's left out all the time.

  • I don't really think ratings is what matters here, the original 3 is what made charlies angels what it was.. whether farrah was there for just one season or not..

  • I love the original 3. Always have. They were magic together. However, they should include Cheryl Ladd sometime. She shouldn't always be excluded. It's become a lame excuse. I think Kate Jackson is a big reason behind it. As Jaclyn Smith admitted, she's a bully.

  • @snoops71: I think that it was Edward Lakso (spelled wrong I am sure) the producer that said that "Kate could be a bully." I remember him saying that in a documentary.

  • DAMN KATE JACKSON DIDNT AGE A BIT

  • Farrah is the best ANGEL,

  • What year is this from? What show? Where can I watch it in better quality - voice and picture. They are three beautiful women. May you rest in peace Farrah. I am so sorry that this had to happen to you.

  • This was early 90's remember Melrose Place was on every Monday night.

  • it was a show in 1998 i guess in feb or march but i have never seen it i m from brasil i had the cable and i saw on entertainement tonight a part of it.

  • No offence to Cheryl Ladd and her fans and the succes she brought to CA, but when I think (and maybe many others) of CA, I think of these three. Watched the pilot yesterday and you could tell tey really like each other and acted as equals, that changed when they added the Kris Munroe character. The first season is still the best. IMO

  • there was a recent report in TV Guide, that said she was hurt with not being included

  • sorry she was speaking of the most recent tribute at the emmys

  • @bobbcatt: I agree, it is hurtful to do that to Cheryl. She seems to be a very nice lady who has EMBRACED Charlie's Angels, sad that she is never included. Although, she did recently do the "TV Land Awards" with Jaclyn. I was happy she was asked, and GLAD she said she would!

  • I can agree with that, but in terms of the show, Cheryl Ladd is very important componet.

  • Beautifull

  • why is cheryl ladd always left out?

  • I just loved the Angels from episode 1. My favourite is and always will be Sabrina Duncon (Kate).

RIP Farrah, now you are with angels.

  • Jaclyn Smith looks as good today as she ever did...she is my personal favorite angel.

    Rest in Peace Farrah...

  • 3 angels are so beautiful. I do love farrah.

    She is my beauty icon.

  • I LOVE FARRAH

  • Jaclyn Smith is so gorgeous!

  • These girls were TRUE friends in real life!!!! RIP Farrah!

  • i never really cared for farrah as everybody else was gaga over her but i'm glad she's in a better place...RIP

  • Farah was the "Ray of Light" in Charlies Angels.

She was the icon of the era.

  • All smart women, including Cheryll Ladd.

  • Jaclyn Smith is my fave angel. I though Farrah was great but I was able to relate more to Jaclyn's character.

RIP Farrah... Jill Munroe is a real angel now.

  • I'm going to miss her...

  • we love these angels. God bless Farrah and her family. May her spirit flow throughout our hearts. .

  • This is SO Great.

  • Farrah always appears hopped up.

  • i love 2:59-3:00 portion..........lol

  • Farrah we love you. God bless you, know that many many people are sending you prayers for a miracle.

  • I look at this with equal parts interest and sadness now, as we all know what Farrah is going through. I was just a kid when Charlie's Angels premiered. And yes, it promoted skin, but it also showed women in leadership roles. Women as smart, skilled, and capable, as well as beautiful warm and caring. Not a bad legacy for Aaron Spelling...or for Kate, Jacklyn, and Farrah, or any of the angels who followed them, either.

  • Very true. These ladies were role models for countless young girls in the '70s. I loved them:)

  • i soooo loveee this !!!

God bless you Farrah , but i love them 3 !!

    Thanks for posting !

  • It is so painful to know what Farrah is going through with her cancer right now. My thoughts are with her and hope she is not in too much in pain. Thank you Farrah for giving us wonderful memories.

  • I am right with you on that God Bless her and keep her from pain love you so much Farrah we are all praying for you sweet Angel.

  • i've been falling in love with them all over again since you tube now has tv shows here...been watching an episode every night before bed....and saying a little prayer (like an angel) for Farrah to pull through...:)

  • That was fun, thanks for posting!

  • Back when beauty and style seemed so effortless and true! These women are and forever eternally beautiful!

    Love them all!

  • Top interview! Thanks for posting this

  • Ahhh Angels forever, still dignified and beautiful despite all the years and hard to fill in there shoes not Drew,Cameron or Lucy were able to capture the glamour of these three ladies, Charlie's Angels Forever...GOOO Ladies!!!!
