  • To me... Its all the same... I take it all in... No sense in getting mad... Macross... Robotech... The important thing is you enjoy yourself... No sense in trying to force your ProMacross ProRobotech Stance... If you dont like what you see Dont watch it... Dont force anyone to do see your point of view... That one side is better.
  • Please check out the Lego Macross project at Cuusoo Lego

  • macros

  • @808jspekeg6 Reading this reminds me of how Voltron: Defender of the Universe is in fact a butchered mess of Beast King GoLion which had a far better story.

  • WOWOWOWOWW!!!! INCREIBLE GRACIAS!!!

  • Why did that women fix her hair IN MIDDLE OF BATTLE?!

  • Está de pelos!!! Excelente versión!!

  • Holy fuck, they raped a great song. Robotech and all of its fans will burn in hell for eternity for supporting this monstrosity.

  • It seems to me that a lot of Robotech fans don't realize the true nature as to why Macross fans despise Harmony Gold/Robotech. A lot of them just assumes that Macross fans are purist who believes SDF-macross's story is superior to Robotech's version and nothing more. The truth is, Macross fans are pissed at how H.G. continues to carry on as if THEY created the Macross saga; barred any sales of Macross merchandise & sequal animations from being sold in the U.S.; and of course, butchering.

  • @808jspekeg6 I like Robotech, but I'm not necessarily a fan. I know it's butchered and bastardized, and I would rather have the original Macross, but I'm thankful for Robotech anyway... without it I wouldn't know of Macross, and I can imagine life without Macross!! but I do agree with you...

  • It's a good version of the song, and I do love Basara, but I like the original version better. The music and voice and everything are just more dramatic.

  • これ「熱気バサラ」って言うか、「アニメタル」じゃん。

  • /watch?v=XWkPzhedu1M

  • rofl, anime trolls, love em!

  • Why would someone like a cut and edited version of an awesome anime? Robotech feels too much like Scooby-Doo instead of Macross. It's like the thing with Yu-Gi-Oh!. Original always > Edited and cut.

  • @genomaru

Because harmonazy gold staff can't do better than ripping off the work of other people. That shithole staff could not write a decent ORIGINAL story even if their lives depend on it. That's you answer sir.

  • @JamesBond77 Yes Yes Yes, keep tripping on the Invid Flower of Life and schmokin that purist Protoculture!

  • Oh, and by the way, Exsedol Folmo and Exedore Formo are the same fucking thing, learn a bit about Japanese romanization, you fucking moron.

  • @JamesBond77 God, you couldn't be even more retarded. Is it people's fault that the US decided to make Robotech instead of just dubbing Macross? I had to watch Robotech when I was a kid, and only recently I could watch Macross because most fansubs were horrible. Most people got to know this series because of Robotech, so why not giving them a little respect?

Also, the music of Robotech was as popular as Mari Ijima's, even in Japan, and Michael Bradley's songs are much better than Mospeada's.

  • @MikersCorbenik

How could Minucci's music be as popular as Iijima's and Haneda's when it was never released there, Mari Iijima has performed many of the Macross songs live several times, and the Robotech version was never aired in Japan?

  • @sanjurosama So it needs to be aired to that people knows about it? How did we all learn about Macross if only Robotech was aired then?

Also, Michael Bradley still performs the songs he did for Yellow Dancer, while Mari Iijima rarely gets the chance to sing somewhere...so yeah, you got the point.

  • @MikersCorbenik

Mari Iijima is much more popular in her native country than in the US, that much is true but to my knowledge Michael Bradley has never performed in Japan. Where is your proof that Ulpio Minucci's songs are popular in Japan? Just because Michael Bradley is some sort of David Hasselhoff of South America doesn't mean he's known in Japan.

  • @sanjurosama So then, someone has to play in a country to be known? That's even more retarded than what you posted before.

I don't need to prove you anything at all with that attitude, make your own fucking research if you are interested, because if it's just to prove me wrong, you are totally wasting your time.

But keep in mind that Japan loves everything that comes from the outside, they dance Tango and ilsten to the Backstreet Boys.

    And they like Robotech songs.

  • @MikersCorbenik

And cows can fly if you keep saying it long enough. Not everything foreign is big in Japan, for example AC/DC isn't nearly as popular in Japan as in many other countries. Michael Bradley or Ulpio Minucci haven't released or performed any Robotech songs in Japan, Robotech wasn't aired or released in Japan and Mari Iijima admitted when asked that she thought the music in Macross is better.

  • @sanjurosama Right, and Kawamori didn't compliment Robotech and it's storyline because it was never aired in Japan, right?

Seriously, you are totally retarded, using that shit as an argument, if things worked like that, then non of us would know about Macross, Mari Iijima, anime that was never released in our countries and pretty much that is not aired on Tv

Get over it, Robotech is known in Japan, and just because the singers never played there it doesn't mean that they are not liked or known.

  • @MikersCorbenik

Macross director Noboru Ishiguro didn't even know about Robotech and Shoji Kawamori hasn't talked that favourably about it either.

You still haven't proven that the Japanese know about the mutilation of Macross that became known as Robotech. I'll give an example: How many Americans you think have seen the German dubbed version of Titanic? Why should the Japanese care about Robotech?

  • @sanjurosama Because Robotech has different music(as I said, the original Music of Mospeada was horrible, so that's enough of a reason) and it shows series they know with a different story.

Titanic is still the same shit, only the language changes.

But you are seriously unbearable, you are the typical retarded fan what hates Robotech just because they changed the names of the characters, but Robotech is awesome, it introduced most of us to the Macrross franchise and anime itself. Get over it.

  • @MikersCorbenik

Actually Mospeada has great music, actually the music is better than the show itself, which would make watching the Robotech version even more unnecessary.

  • @MikersCorbenik

Harmony gold also tried to stop the sale of macross toys outside japan which hurt the robotech fans who wanted to buy the cool macross toys. They were afraid it would hurt sales of robotech obviously. But since then they've backed off and I don't mind if robotech lives on in some form as long as it seperates itself from macross and evolves into something else.

If a live action robotech movie is made for instance I would like to see original mecha not seen in the tv show.

  • @sanjurosama And anyway, let's think for a while that you are right, and Japan doesn't care about Robotech or it's music. That's the less important part of my comment.

My point was to make clear that the only people with the right to talk shit about Robotech is the Japanese, and they actually don't, so why us, the fans, have to argue about how Robotech is just a shitty copy and everyone that worked on it deserves to die?

Robotech will be always remembered in history for all the good it did.

  • So is this supposed to be the 90's version of the original?

  • As a Macross fan and one of the many people who saw Robotech when it first aired, all i am going to say is that both have their places in people's hearts. I personally like Macross for its story, Kentaro Haneda's orchestrations, and Mari Iijima's beautiful voice. Robotech is ok but I think that modern anime owes a lot to Macek and what he tried to do regardless of what other people think. Besides if Rebecca Forstadt and Mari Iijima can acknowledge their characters, why can't we have peace?

  • I like this video, it is good :V

  • Nekki Basara's from Macross 7.

  • having seen both macross and robotech, it is my personal opinion that macross is altogether the better series. That being said however, this "Macross vs. Robotech" arguement thing is getting really old. It doesn't really matter which one is better, everyone has their own opinions about each series. So enjoy which one you choose to like, but just respect each other's opinions, even if you don't agree with them

  • @airgearbleachfan

...What about watching the ADV Film dub version of Macross?

  • most of the commenters here are really, really obsessed, weird purist anime fans

  • @slyther2

Oh shi-- I'm one of them :v

I can actually see what you mean (e.g. JamesBond77). However, it's kind of expected when you have a series that tried to connect all three anime series that originally had no connection story-wise. Personally, I do see some of the pros Robotech did in the US.

  • @JLCL01 At the end of the day it's just an animation. People have better things to be bickering about than a show about transforming planes and aliens

  • @slyther2

But what if it was a live action movie, painting, or a novel; would the statement still apply or what? (not suggesting anything, just wondering)

It's actually kind of more complex than just "transforming planes and aliens". It's also about love triangles and stopping wars via singing pop songs :u

But yeah, hopefully these "M/SC/M VS Robotech" argument die down or something since barely anyone is actually commenting on the video.

  • @slyther2 I.E. smart people

  • @narutoman876. Well I do not consider mister Jamesbond 77 to be a smart person. By that statement what do you mean? Macross has one of the worst, rabid fanbases in the industry if only because of the robotech situtation

  • @slyther2 Maybe not be he's much smarter than those two robotech trolls, they just say macroos is crap without and reasoning. Unless harmony Gold and the ghost of carl macek make a written apology for robotech and stop acting like it's their own totally original creation it will never stop

  • @narutoman876 sounds like a corny thing to say but the fans have to make it stop. Both these shows did something for anime and originaly they did want to bring just Macross but it didn't sell. Times were different back then. We need to make it stop and move on.

Oh and as a fan of both, the Robotech novels kick ass

  • @narutoman876 , I think the thing most people forget about Robotech is that is was around way before japanimation ( anime) was popular in north america. I watched robotech when it first aired here in canada (sat morning 9am on BCTV, two eps in a row). That was all we got for a week. We couldn't pop onto the internet and download eps or watch them on youtube. The only reasion Macek did robotech was because he wanted to put them on TV and you needed at least 65 eps for syndication on NA tv.

  • @1Soulless1 Really? Voltron, Speed racer, Astro boy, star blazers, thunderbirds, all came before robotech and were animes from Japan. My problem is that macek had the audacity to make sequels as if those stories belong to him to add to

  • I think gundam is better, but i still love the macross series though

  • MA KU ROSUUU

  • @JamesBond77

Hey !!!! Good News James !!!! i found a really good psychiatrist for you !!! He is from Arcadia Mental Health and he can help you with your anger issues, especially for schizo-effective delusions of grandeur about ROBOTECH being bad...his number is 626 -821-5858 arcadia,ca

he takes sliding scale so if you don't have a job currently he is only $15 copay......

  • @JamesBond77 roy is still old lil focker though.

  • @JamesBond77 if there were no macross, there wouldnt be a robocrap

  • @postro81

...and if there were no crayons, there would be no Macross !!! :-)

  • @JamesBond77

you are sperging pretty hard buddy

    KAWAII JAPAN BANZAIIIIIIII DESUKAAAAAAAAAAA

  • @JamesBond77

Really? don't troll on Robotech, i'll agree it wasn't the best thing in the universe. but it did introduce me to Macross. without it i wouldn't of have found this anime, neither Super Dimensional Southern Cross or Orguss. neither Genesis Climber Mospedia.

Though many people hate Robotech it is credited to introducing Anime to america (or atleast getting it popularized) even though it was popular, this REALLY pushed it along.

and BTW Carl Maceck died on my Birthday.

  • Macross Forever!! great song coming from the great Nekki Basara.

    Fire!!!!

    Bomber!!!!

  • @JamesBond77 damm take it easy pal u need some pills or something not everyone is going to like what u like

  • @JamesBond77

    Hey !

Don´t be so hard, man. Many of us ( I included) discovered Macross thanks to Robotech.

And even though Macross (specially DRL?) is simply ASWESOME AND WAY SUPERIOR, I will always thanks Robotech for letting me know it.

  • TV Series how it happened DYRL how it looked

  • @ROBOTECHTEHBEST GTFO robofaggot

  • This is awesome, I love Battletech!

  • @JamesBond77 yo don't hold back about Robotech, tell us what you REALLY feel

  • Comment removed

  • アメリカでのrobotechの新作や続編を作るのだけは、やめてほしい。

  • @syujyou what do you mean to say about Robotech? If ou hate thhe show then that's perfectly fine. I respect your opinion

  • @syujyou robotech is fricken old you moron. robotechは古いで、お前は何もしらないんだ。

  • as far as I remember there are three buttons or levers that were used in the VF's

    A,B,C,

    A - Core fighter

B - Half Mech Core fighter

    C - Full Mech Form

its fun watching Hikaru and Max punching the buttons while they engage in dogfights LOL

  • @Walfisch0083 or: Fighter, Gerwalk and Battroid.

  • Robotech is good but Macross is where it all came from, japs had the idea first and here in asia SDF Macross was ranked alongside UC Gundam series, robotech was also showed here in SEA but nobody watched it only a few did realize it was a western copy

  • @JamesBond77 wow chill out dude

  • I hope they never make a live action movie because hollywood has no idea they just mess things up. They show some pic of there Idea for voltron and hello it looks like transformers.

  • Whats with this pothetic civil war? This is like star trek geeks arguing over which starship captain is better.

  • @JamesBond77 hey nobody cares. Cool your jets and go back to enjoying what you like and leave the robotech fans to enjoy what they like. the fact that purists who want to comitt genocide on the robotech fanbase make me disgusted that I@m a macross fan

  • I've watched both Macross, Macross DYRL, and Robotech Macross saga and DYRL is just everything that happend in the show just bunched up into 1 movie and people die differently and Robotech Macross saga is just Macross Dubbed

  • To all of the people complaining about Robotech on this video: Shut up! I might prefer Macross to Robotech, but IT DOESN'T MATTER.

  • Dude, where did you get this version of the song?! I can't find it anywhere! FIREBOMBER IS AWESOME!

  • Thank you our Lord Shoji Kawamori-sama and Ishiguro-dono fir in creating a wonderful work of anime, have also created and bred one of worst macross nazi fanboys: James Bond77 and his macross nazi cohorts who cant say anything nice to people who say they watch robotech. in their eyes if we watch robotech we're immediatl sub human and scum

  • I like macross 7 above any other macross titled series it was the first 1 I ever watched and I considered the best no offense to the people that say plus is the best its the longest macross series I've read about and the song are unmatched my favorite try again and then in macross dynamite 7 dynamite explosion

  • I think I speak for a fair amount of people when I say that: Robotech and Macross are television shows about mechs and aliens. They're not real. They're fictional so why are we even arguing about them in the first place? (Cue fanwank rant by our good troll jamesbond77) Our anger would be better directed towards other things which deserve the criticism

  • Macross has an English dub on Hulu. And no, I don't mean the Robotech version. I don't know why they didn't just release the DVDs of if. I'd buy them.

  • Robotech is the exact same thing as Macross for the first 36 episodes, then it mangles two completely unrelated series to get them to fit with Macross. It wasn't a great dub, but it was serviceable, and if it were something other than Macross getting dubbed you probably wouldn't care.

  • Saw the original Macross for the first time, and I wish it had been shown in the states as it was meant to be. But Robotech still has its merits. It gave us an anime series that was three times longer. Who can argue with more anime? The Robotech story was a pretty good one in its own right, even though it seemed less "human", focusing on one long resource war rather than the interpersonal relationships that was the heart of the Macross story.

  • @GothikOrk I think you just summed it up for me there man

  • Macross + Southern Cross + Mospeada = Robotech and Only Robotech is in English.

  • @zirron75 - Macross has an English dub on Hulu. And no, I don't mean the Robotech version. I don't know why they didn't just release the DVDs of if. I'd buy them.

  • @JamesBond77 WTF are you talking about dude? Lies about who? The point is simple... Robotech is a franchise of the dudes who made Macross... either it was sold, or they get royalties... but your beloved Macross team made money out of Robotech and I don't think they regret it. Robotech helped place anime in Western Culture.

  • @roblanco Wow ... You don't understand the situation at all. Another victim of harmonazy gold lies I guess. Log on Wikipedia and search for Macross to get a real understanding of the situation.

  • @JamesBond77 What lies dude... it's a freaking TV show about robots... why are you conjuring up conspiracy theories? I did read Wikipedia. Robotech also carries the name Macross... if you're hard on denial then it's not my problem.

  • @JamesBond77 Ok I retract what I said, I was confused. Robotech is not Macross and neither does it carry the name. I grew up with both series, and somehow it got all mashed up in my head. Sorry about that. Nevertheless, Studio Nue was the one that gave rights to Tatsunoko Production in exchange for finance, Tatsunoko then sold the rights to Harmony Gold. It was all fair business, so yeah. I was wrong about Robotech, but you can't blame Harmony Gold for trying to make a profit.

  • @JamesBond77 lol ok Robotroll.... you don't sound like a fanboy of Macross at all. Still... you praise so much the Macross team... and didn't Macross team at least acknowledge the storyline at first and then when they saw the disgruntled fans they took it all back and placed it in another dimension? I mean... it's their fuck up... sounds like a bunch of hypocritical stuff coming from you.

  • @slyther2 Ignore Jamesbond77, he's been going around youtube for like 2-3 years bitching about robotech. i had it out with him and another idiot like 2 years ago, and eventually realized they weren't worth my time.

  • thanks for the support man. What is your view on the matter by the way? personally I enjoy Robotech and whilst other purists may argue otherwise I still can see (I didnt grow up with Robotech. Im seventeen you see so didnt get here in the UK) I can still see how examples of Robotech (most prominently the Macross Saga of course) were so influential on animation in America at the time. Personally I freakin love both shows even if the quality of Robotech dips and rises after the Macross Saga

  • Can't you just imagine Fire Bomber performing this?

  • I don't get it... why is there rivalry between Macross and Robotech? Are they not from the same producer? Did they all not sign contracts and make money off of it?

  • @roblanco I think that it's because that many people like Macross and see Robotech as complete trash. Same for the Robotech fans because they grew up with Robotech.

  • @ShonenNinja91 I grew up with Robotech and I watched the Macross series... they're pretty similar.

  • @roblanco I know, but the people who are participating in this rivalry don't care

  • @roblanco you see, they foolishly blame Harmony gold and robotech for the reason why macross 7, macross frontier, and macross zero will never see the light of day here, but if they would actually read the legal papers, its Tatsunoko and Big west/studio nue who can't iron out their differences. HG for the most part is trying to push the macross world away from Robotech for the most part

  • @Lumadil Right... if they were actually to know anything about how business is done they'd realize that the same people they praise and love for making Macross are the same responsible for Robotech. What fucking panseys.

  • @roblanco as a friend of mine once said to me "things are always easier when you are on the outside looking in"

  • It amazes me how angry people get when talking about the two series. Robotech wasn't some deliberate idea theft it was an attempt to get around series syndication regulations that existed at the time. Macross only has 32 or so episodes and not the 65 required at the time, harmony gold had to be creative to get the Macross on American TV.

  • @RoninofFire why do people hate robotech so much? I enjoy them both.

  • @slyther2 truth sir, people are idiots. both shows have there merits and for anyone who actually grew up watching the series havent got problems with it. Mostly its just Otaku kids.

  • better japan re-create this anime again before the US will.. if that happens then robotech fanboys will become more stupid.. they will be still thinking that this masterpiece was made by US..

  • hope they can remake the first macross...

  • It's not Robotech that should be looked down upon but the people at Harmony Gold for stealing what wasn't there's. Apparently Tatsunko Studio had no right to give SDF-Macross to Harmony or Southern Cross for that matter. Tatsunko only owned Mosepda. For what is worth Robotech has a great story. I just wish that every one gets to see the whole Macross saga starting at Zero all the way to Frontier

  • @davismw2000 From what I know, Studio Nue went into a partnership with Tatsunoko in order to get SDF Macross produced, due to lack of funds. In that partnership, Tatsunoko got the rights to distribute it internationally. Same with Southern Cross. Those rights were upheld when Studio Nue/Big West took them to court. Harmony Gold didn't steal anything. They saw an opportunity to present this story to America and they went with it.

  • @ShonenNinja91 oh but it seems at the first they didn't want all US market knows that this story wast made by japan..

  • @wmonou So did all the companies who brought anime to US television back then. They adapted it and promoted it as their own. It wasn't until the 90s that we start to find out that they did that

  • @davismw2000 Tatsunoko owned the the Super Dimensional label that Macross and Southern Cross were both marketed under.

  • robotech haters, grow the hell up lol.

  • I rather enjoy both Robotech and Macross. I know some anime purists may frown on Robotech, but I take it at face value-- an attempt to spark interest in Japanese animation during the mid '80s. While the process of taking several different series and merging them into a single continuity may be unacceptable by today's standards, just look at the franchise that came out of it! Robotech certainly does have its merits, just as Macross does. Besides, they're both entirely different universes.

  • Macross =The 8th MS team

    Robotech = Gundam Seed Destiny

  • @StrikeFreedom986 Not exactly true, Macross wasn't as good as 08th MS Team over all. Though out of macross the only Macross I've enjoyed was Macross, Macross Plus and Macross Zero, but for Gundam its normally the same story, TV shows are awful, the short OVAs and movies are normally great.

  • Uh, guys, Robotech barely changed anything other than a couple of names and the ending. It wasn't a great adaptation, but it could have been a LOT worse... just imagine, what if they'd given it the Samurai Pizza Cats treatment?

  • The only thing good that ever came out of Robotech was We Will Win

  • Frak you Starz Media LLC.

  • The audio is off

  • No one can sing it like Mizuki-kun.

  • Too bad the song can't be matched up to the OP perfectly, would be much more epic.

  • yeah right.... steal a Japanese series and change it's names... whoa big thing they did for "robotech"... I'd have some respect for it if they had made everything from scratch

  • Have the Sheryl/Ranka actresses done this son too?

  • Fuck yeah! I loved Robotech!

  • @Idolores Macros! not Robotech :I

  • @Idolores And we hate robocrap. roboshit is a crappy ripoff of three different anime TV series including the original Macross aka Super Dimension Fortress Macross. So fuck off with your robocrap that no one care about. Your comment made you look like a fucking looser I tell you.

  • ive always wondered, is this searies an allegory to make japs feel better about how japan started a foolish war with america but was beaten by its superior "culture" and even though they said they hated the culture of their conquerors, adapted it and adopted it to suit their own way of living?

eg; sukiyaki, anime, manga other awsome japanese things influenced by western culture...

  • @monoham1

Interesting, but have you tried switching it around, and approaching things as the US being represented by the Zentradi and Japan as the UN Spacey?

A war with a technologically superior rival decimates the UN Spacey population, who during a period of peace see their former adversaries slowly become reliant on the UN's advanced technology?

I would make mention of the Zentradi's adoption of earth culture, but that's kind of prevalent everywhere, not just between the states and japan.

  • @DigitalForceCA yeh! and changing and adapting the adversary`s morals and technology into something of benefit for both sides...

  • Nekki Basara FTW

  • Thats Crazy I use to love the show but I was 6 then and some of ya'll are actin like this is you kids and fightin like kids!!! LOL WOW!!!

  • If is not made by the japanese, how come they can use the character of Hikaru ? they made an old hikaru shouldnt, that be illegal?

  • I saw this first mexico and the follow the story line of robotech. It was years later when I found out that macross is the first series and the other seasons where the blond girl appears has not connection with the first series. Americans wanted to make it look like it was a sequel but its complete different story , damm I was so ignorant. And what the fuck is the shadow chronicles? what fuck is that shit movie? it is not made by the japanese , right? cause it really sucks

  • robotech is the worst name they can think of,plus valkyries are better names than veritechs(sounds like a nerd came up to that name)

  • How does hypercross sound?

  • remember it was an 80's cartoon geared tarword younger audiances.

  • @StrikeFreedom986 How does raptors sound?

  • @TheStephenShow its ok

  • @StrikeFreedom986 that may be true but so many wouldn't even know what Macross is if it weren't for Robotech... no matter how Harmony Gold hacked up the original story, I still like it-it was a defining time for me with anime. I've like the genre ever since...

  • @zeroswings2 I think the defining moments of anime were when Akira was released in USA, and when Dragon Ball Z was aired on TV. Robotech didnt do much for anime , which explains why anime was pretty much a niche throughout the 80's and early 90's. Until Cartoon Network started to air Gundam Wing , anime was still considered kiddie TV.

  • @nytrospawn you've just proven my point. anime WAS considered niche way back then... Robotech had a hand in making the other later titles available. what other anime could you think of around the time Robotech was popular? I'd wager there isn't much... aside from stuff like Fist of the Northstar or Speed Racer... it paved the way for the rest. And it was THE title that solidified anime as something I enjoy.

  • @zeroswings2 Im sorry, if Robotech had such a great impact, then why is it dead in the water? It hasn't produced a new TV show in decades. Frankly, if it was that influential we should have had all the other Macross shows in the Western countries. It wasn't, and all thats left of Robotech is a dozen failed attempts at new shows/products.

  • @nytrospawn you've proven my point again... were it not for Robotech, you'd not know a thing about Macross. We all have Harmony Groves greed to blame for their being no Macross here-they wanted to change everything and make it their own and the original creators weren't accepting that. There are other factors too like studios running out of funding... but don't blame Robotech for that. Besides Robotechs greatest impact was ushering anime into the mainstream.

  • @nytrospawn You are right bro : robocrap is now a dead piece of shit. As it should be.

  • @StrikeFreedom986 In Macross VF stands for "Variable Fighter" Veritech is reminiscent of it. As for "Robotech" Robo-Technology, the technology of Planes turning into mecha. Seriously, could you have come up with anything better in the 80's?

  • @StrikeFreedom986

Yeah but the valkyries were women (which are bad)

  • @SUpersaiyajinjerkbag because the show implies to mature audience which harmony gold(the creator of robofag) ruined it

  • @StrikeFreedom986 You forget though, ALL Japanese Cartoons released on US Television through the 70s and 80s were edited up the wazoo. Robotech held start an entire generation into watching such shows in the first place, ya it's edited to heck and back and mixed with other shows to make a longer show, but really it isn't much worse than what happened to some others before it and after. In fact it sparked a Generation of Japanimation watchers, it was the first I saw... but not the last.

  • @StrikeFreedom986 Robot Technology, Robotechnology, Robotech. Variable Fighter Technology, Varitech, Veritech. It was the 80's Everyone was a nerd and everything had a nerd name. Valkyrie for a flying death machine is just as cheesy.

  • @StrikeFreedom986

    Yeah... it sounds "very tech"-nical

    :-D

  • @StrikeFreedom986

Just for the record, Veritech is the name of the machine itself. Valkyrie is the name designation given to the specific model (VF-1, VF standing for Veritech Fighter) from the original Macross Saga. This carries over from Macross to Robotech.

  • @personM4N nope,VF stands for Variable FIghter not "Veritech" FIghter.my reliable source came from wikipedia hope that it helped you to much from the confusion of Macross and robotech

  • @StrikeFreedom986

Right, right. Either way: VF-1 Valkyrie in Macross. VF-1 Valkyrie in Robotech.

  • @ Rampagelil

Veritech sounds like that stupid kiddie computer I had when I was like 5. Plus Harmony Gold owns Robotech, not Macross. Shame on you for uttering such blasphemy.

    FYI

    A7WFG:

    I laughed at your comment.

StrikeFreedom986 ignoring that your name immediately conjures up...OK I know I've had disagreements with you and Rampegalil at some point.... anyway I agree with everything accept F-14 Raptor...is that what they call them where you're from? (Not that it's a problem)

  • sorry its not f-14,its f-22 sorry for the mistake

  • ''Plus Harmony Gold owns Robotech, not Macross.''

Indeed. For people out there, don't listen to

Rampagelil LIES. OFFICIAL court documents prove that harmony gold don't have the rights to use Macross designs. That's Tommy Yune and moderators on robotech(DOT)com said that the POSSIBLE (because this shit is not even in pre-production) RLAM is going to be a re-imaged of robotech. And expect many changes in RLAM storyline because hg wants to avoid a costly lawsuit.

  • @JamesBond77 You are right, whenever asked Tommy says they have the merchandising rights and change the subject, BUT that's a lot different from have intelectual property rights, they can make toys and products, but they can't create new designs based on the original desings nor create more animations using them.

  • damn i hate robotech retards

  • Comment removed

  • no its not studio nue owns macross and valkyries are better names for transforming f-14 raptors

  • well robotech movie suck against macross:DYRL, and macross frontier
