Does anyone know where I can get a carb. float ? Mine is only 3 months old and it leaked gas in and sank making the engine flood and stall. I have sealed up the leak somewhat and I can ride for the time being, but I am sure it will sink again. It is the 80cc engine with the cheapo carb. Vince Thanks for any help you can offer. hi nice vid, i started my 49cc motor today and it was running but i couldnt stop the gear from spinning, do i need to instll a clutch and can i even install a clutch? or am i going to have to shut it off when ever im not moving>?
There is so many older questions I haven't answered. I hardly come on here and I feel bad for that. I too used to want to know how to do all of this and when someone doesn't answer it can become very frustrating. I figure by now the ones that have been asked so long ago have been figured out. I will try to answer upcoming ones that aren't covered in the video for now on.

petcock was made wrong or your giving to much gas an not enough gearing but something like that should make a shit load of power but iknow to much about two strokes yea know hoope it helps peace
I have 48cc skyhawk, ive gotten it up to about 30 before they really just top out there no avoiding it helped mefrom bogging when i tried getting up to speed slower, give it more time. i noticed mine would go faster if i just went slow on the gas letting it build up speed. also it is peddle assist just like a moped some peddling is needed to gain speed and make certain hills. But thats just some tips i found helpful.
thanky for the video. i'm thinking of getting a motor from RAW bike motors. the bike i want to install it on is one of those sears coaster-brake cruisers that has the thin fenders over front and rear tires as well as a chain guard....do you think those accessories would mess with the install at all...?
I need to know if there's a way to make the clutch lever disengage easier for me, cause I'm a girl and i don't know if it's normal for that lever to be so tight since I've noticed on other bikes it's not so hard when it's pulled on to disengage. I would like to know if there is any other thing that i can do to cut down on the vibration cause too much. Thanks
Do not hook the kill switch up to the White wire. It is for a headlight. The killswitch get connected to both engine wires, 1 to the blue, 1 to the black.
would this work on a 29" bike? i know the tires are a bit bigger so im sort of worried about the exhaust not having enough room under the frame with out the tires hitting them.
It bolts to the frame. It isnt too much work to mount, any rainy day you could mount it in 1-3 hours. Get a 26" beach cruiser style bike to mount it on, I have a 24" one and it is being a pain in the ass to mount because of its size. also make sure that the bike doesn't have a coaster brake and has front and rear brakes. Hope this help (im gonna keep trying at my bike in the mean time).
if it aint broke and you mess with it long enough, it will be.
AWESOME tutorial !! Im a ford techie and youve covered everything, including a few extra mods (fuel pipe clips etc) Ive just bought a 70cc one to slap on my bike. I live in a rural part of australia close to 7 wineries. this is my farmyard beer scooter !!! great effort, well done :)
Hello My moms boyfriend bought a motor for a bike I was wondering if you could send me a copy of this because they dont have a computer yet and he is confushed with the installation. If you can email me at cathy_jo73@yahoo.com
This was awsome. Thank you. I purchased my kit yesterday. Can not wait for it to arrive. Thank you for the informatiom, If this is in typed form please let me know. i will purchase it.
do not hook the kill switch to the white wire, the white wire is for the bike lights you can get for them. This white wire puts out 7.5 volts.
The proper wireing is black to black, blue to blue, one wire from the kill switch to the blue wire and the other wire from the killswitch to ground, usually where the water bottle mount was in the front downtube.
the black wire from the kill switch where exactly does it go? And you u make video when u cuilding your second bike... this video is hard to get for a beginner
could someone give me detailed instructions how to adjust all the clutch system? included the right side of the engine.I can move the bike forward with the clutch engaged.Somtehing went wrong while i was trying to fix the lever and the clutch arm i believe....what was it? Help!!!!
ok so everything is working out except when i try to put the chain into the motor. the screws are extremely hard to take out so i can't place the chain on the clutch sproket inside the engine
the writting part of yur vid.. installation guide. do you have a written copy of it.. send it to me if you do .. so i can show me mate who is gonna put this thing on my bike.. cheers and thanks in advance
im building my second bike and i have run into a problem in the clutch i pull the lever and the outside plate gets pushed out but it is still engaged any ideas?
hey, this happened to me too. i put transmission fluid in it, which prob isnt good. but the clutch needs some sort of lubrication like this guy says at the end of the vid w/ the 20 D or 30 D oil, that would work best. getting shipped from china, none of the clutches have been lubricated.
yes it should be very tight. i wouldnt say , over extreme, but you will know what i mean. if you set it up right, you should be able to push the pin lock in and ride freely without feeling tension with the clutch. if you feel tension then the cluctch cable is slipping. it has to be very tight.
highly unlikely anything will break by tightening up extreme. its steel cable afterall. i would get someone to help pull while someone screws that screw in to leave it in place. pull with a lot of force. it has to be tight man
Is there anything special we have to do to the cog wheel that the chain is attached to? I have not been able to get my engine cog to spin freely yet and have tried many times tightening the the wire that goes to the lever that applies pressure to the metal rod that fits loosely inside the cog that has the chain around it? My factory instructions are quite nebulous and any insight would be greatly appreciated. BTW i have the same engine type as you.
strange. i was gonna say it also could be the clutch isnt tight enough. but i dont know what the issue is. because i never had a problem like that and i have 3 motors. hmmmm well another thing is that the pistons inside could be shot already. that happened to me once while i was riding, almost got in a huge wreck.
you probably dont have the clutch set up right onto where it hits the cog. otherwise it could be a problem with the motor itself. people who have that problem though generally comes from not having it set up at the cog right.
Hey I have the same problem as shizame, it seems to be a pretty common problem for us laymen machinists.
"I got pretty much everything together...at least got to point of fussing with the clutch-and found that I can't disengage it..hell,I can't even see how it works!..That little 'clutch arm' only rotates a half-round rod that passes by a shaft. The shaft is all greased,so simple friction seems out, even if it were practical.

i installed the majority of on of these kits on the scant instructions and some intuition, but now i've reached the throttle assembly and i am totally stumped. does the throttle cable run through the top of the carb and down through some groove in the side of a platic cylinder? help please!!!!!
ya if its flying out of control whne you start you might wanna check your idle screw. and make sure its not too far in (tight). make it looser and see how that works. sometimes, if you dont put the throttle assembly onto the handle bar correctly, you can create tension and that can do it too.
well done with this vid. thank you very much. you helped me heaps, ive got a kit off ebay and am waiting on finding the right bike, its for a school project.
on ebay is the cheapest way from my experience. Look for "80cc bike motor" on ebay. although very few of them are really a 80cc. They like to make the 80cc a technical machine test or something.
well, i thought i clearly explained the kill switch in this video. Your kill switch has a yellow and a white wire, or what? I wouldn't bother buying another one. A majority of these kits do come somewhat "shitty" conditioned. But it's all about making the best of it and treating every part with care. For the price, I think their definitely worth the investment. But only if you tune it up and maintain it, etc..
Just a technical issue with the video- I would put the text in black boxes (between video shots) so it would show up better. I have a hard time reading the text without pausing the video repeatedly while the text is over a black background so I can read it. The video itself is a work of art! Thanks!
I could have used this video BEFORE I put it all together. Anyway, I have mine running great (same one you have). My manual didn't explain how to wire the kill switch. Just have the switch ground out the white wire, right?
some of the set up kits have different color wires. The white wire on this motor here is connected to the yellow from the throttle. The black wire of the throttle is grounded to my frame.
this video gives so many helpful tips that I never thought of,as I am going to do one for myself soon. It answers so many questions that I had and warns me of many mistakes that I would have probably made. Thanks and I will surely come back and refer again and again during my assembly.

to adjust the carb to run with most power
INSTRUCTIONS:
turn the l screw either way until the engine runs smoothly (you cant hear seperate strokes)
bwa bum bum bum bum -no
bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap (onomatepia) - yes
lol
then turn the h screw and rev the engine
and when the engine revs really hard, it is tuned good :)
to adjust the throttle (idle) turn the screw behind the throttle lever to make it idle slower or faster
