I didn't know homes were required to fit COMMERCIAL laws? CODES ARE NOT LAWS! You have to contract with the city or state to be effected by codes! WTF!
I know why you got all the cops and the rest of the agency out there you asked for and demanded a search warrant so you get all ass holes they can line up. Of course you are going to get the cops to protect code officer. There have been a lot of them assaulted by home owners. I was surprised you did not get the fire department also.
Now maybe you should see if you can get 10 minutes in front of city government
.
Print out a copy of that 18 USC 242 Deprivation of rights under the color of law, read a little bit to city fathers and kind subject that maybe they might want to talk to the city legal beagle. About the cops, code enforcement, health department exceeding the scope of the warrant. Through in that the warrant that is on its face was no good because it expired.
Ah, did the search warant include the home interior. Generally all warants must be specific in nature and cite areas to be searched and for what. Antthing found during their illegal search should be thrown out of court.
Dude you got violated big time. Never let the cops into your house. If you let them in even without a search warrant you are giving them consent to search your house. You should have led them around the side of your house to the backyard where the supposed offenses were.
Cops rarely work, they are the type of people that like to nose in everyones buisness, they are always stoping me just to ask "who are you, where did you come from, where are you going" They are like a bunch of nosey old women.
All I can say Is that this man should have never allowed them in his home. And I would certainly not let them into my house. I think it was dumb. That is just me! I have to say that it is good that he has video cams in his home, he just needs more. We are coming to the time where the state are going to make the citizens the enemies of the state. This is the way that it has been for most civilizations. This guy is far to comfortable having the sovereignty of his home subjugated by the state.
This was a shakedown if I ever saw one. Just another example of many of the Austin PD abusing its authority and the rights of the citizens it is supposed to serve. What the hell were they doing searching all over his home when the supposed issue was over the proximity of a shed to his neighbor's property? And they did so with an expired (i.e. illegal) search warrant no less! I hope Mr. Reid litigates to stem the transgressions of the APD, but nevertheless at least this incident is on record.
Get an attorney! A good one!

It's like they raped your house. I hate the police but I love Austin. If they raided my house like that I'd be screwed big time.

@1THETUFFGUY they had a warrant he had to let them in the house or do a david koresh. If he wanted to die that would be the best way to go.

Seems a bit excessive for a couple "code" violations
