  • In many ways -- while other people compared Joni Mitchell to so many other female folk singers -- and critics and fans sang Joni's praises for her work -- which Joni deserves -- it's really Dory Previn who can stand shoulder to shoulder with Joni for original songwriting, innovation, quality, creativity, musicianship and diversity. Yes, Dory never had a solo hit or the following of Joni -- Dory was for special tastes. But Dory is the one I believe was in the same class with Joni Mitchell.

  • PATSXSKIP I've learned to play this buzzin

  • Heard this on Radio 4 Extra ( which has not been changed for the better, as a whole, from Radio7 ) Nevertheless, this programme took me back to many great and happy times. Stil adore this song.

  • Absolutely brilliant thank you patsxskip

  • This isn't the version I have, plodding accompaniment, too slow. The original is light and lovely, showing how Dory developed from her intellectual, classical-music former self to a wider, more sensual person. It's not "Going home" of course - another pearl of a song, but then so are Mary C.Brown, Twenty Mile zone, oh, how many, where are today's women song-writers? Only Tracy Chapman stands out for me.

  • this is a beautiful and moving song-as tragic as many of Dory's songs seem -this one really inspires me!
