  • where's the exhilration movement?! that movement rocks!

  • I feel sorry for the woodwinds (esp. Flute 1) in the first movement. That tempo is ridiculous!

  • Holy Crap Ticheli, why is the second movement so fast?!?!?!

  • We are playing ALL of Southern Harmony and we need help, not to mention the last couple of measures for the flutes in the third movement, even these guys messed it up lol

  • Because it's Dr. Ticheli I'll blame the mistakes on the students.

How the HELL do you get him as a clinician.

Ugh! That trumpet who tried to take it up. Disgusting.

  • yeah, love the song hated the BCL part! exept on wonderous love, exept we had me, a chello, and a baritone playing it. but i love this peice. its so fun to listen to.

  • This brings back nightmares. This was one of the pieces on my Wind Band Literature final. 1 of 47 pieces that I had to be able to identify with composer, title of piece, title of movement, year it was written and how the music separates itself from other works.

  • It would be awesome if the 4th movement was added here, but otherwise, thanks for uploading. This video brings back memories.

  • our second band at my school played this this year they sucked though haha

  • Our high school wind symphony is playing this. Including movement 4. I play tuba so its not too hard. :)

  • ha oh geeze, yeah I'm a percussionist and I play the timpani solos in mvmt 4, lot of pressure ha

  • we played ALL of southern harmony last year and won the national wind band honor award. this piece is so fun. i'm in percussion and go to cypress springs in texas.

  • haha of course, no movement 4.

we played it for all-state here in cali this weekend in symphonic band :O

  • I wonder why they did not play the 4th movt. oh yeah maybe because its stupid hard. GEEEZZZZ movt 4 is the hardest one for clarinets.

  • omg, we played this for california all-state honor band this past weekend, and the 4th movement was impossible for flutes to read because of all the ledger lines. it's soo hard.

  • pretty good. good brass sound in the first movement.

however, I think the first movement moves entirely too fast.

but other than that, excellent playing.

  • very good job =]

i do feel the second movement moved by pretty fast & really didn't give a chance to show the true colors of the woodwinds, but over all EXCELLENT JOB!

  • very noisy throughout.

especially the clapping in the third, covers woodwinds too much.

our band played this last spring for UIL, but all four movements. (the last movement is a beast)

  • oh man you guys are soo lucky you got to play this.

I absolutely ADORE the third movement more than anything =]

  • u guys got stand up when clapping on the third movement. thats what the interlochen W.Y.W.S band did

  • The third movement is the best part of this whole song. Ahh
