after looking at helen for awhile now...i'm at a loss---could not say she's ugly--no way....but also, shes not a babe, ya know...plausibly attractive...but most of that attraction is entangled with her voice
I also love the lyrics to this song, as it actually mirrors an awesome woman in my life. She did get over that jilting, and she actually learned much from it. The song always made her smile, and for that Helen, you will always rule.Peace always...
It is about exactly as stated, a woman jilted. She could never get over it, but the song is awesome. Helen says soo much with her eyes in this video. She is great and I thank you for the video. Peace always...
This song reminds me of a good friend who was killed in a car wreck years ago, she loved to get drunk and sing this song on stage everywhere her husbands band was playing. Her husband hated for her to do it , but the friends loved to see her , she was hilarious, really good though. Love this song, brings back good memories.
you can tell she has major problems. I think that she was suicidal during this period. Her short hair indicates that she has major psychological problems.
But she couldnt admit any of this because she kept siging "I am unvincible".
For her to admin vulnerability, she knows she would have been classified as a hypocrite, and she would lose all her money and then she would seriously commit suicide. That is why she is an old hag in Austrailia right now
GREAT TUNE....I WISH SOMEONE WOULD POST ANOTHER ONE OF HER SONGS CALLED 'PRETTY, PRETTY' WRITTEN BY PETER ALLEN. IT WAS OFF OF THE ALBUM LOVE SONG FOR JEFFERY.......AWESOME SONG!
Tanya Tucker did this song WAY BETTER!!!

@MrJfatah It's about an aging southern belle who was jilted and never got over it. Sort of a Miss Haversham.
