  • The 60s,70s and 80s was the time of real talented musicians. The best of the time,

Now they all think that screaming and swearing and acting like Idiots make them talented.

there is not much for talent now a days. they are few and far between.

  • Thanks for uploading the full length version :-)

  • love it

  • This song is great, I was a teenager when this song came out in the 1980's.

  • @ 2:29

    Denis Leary or Daryl Hall??

  • This video is everything that was cheesy and awesome about the early 80's all at the same time. Remember when MTV actually played good music?

    Love the Astros jersey...

    G.E. Smith tearing it up...

Awesome video quality, BTW. Thanks for posting this!!

  • That guitar at 0:31 and 1:44 sounds fucking ace.

  • i love the fucking bass in this

  • The '80's was the best. MTV & Vh1 has changed for the worse with all these reality shows and not enough concerts & videos. Maybe I should get one of those Hot Tub Time Machines and go back to those days.

  • Why do I like this? I am single! I dont want to hear about unavailble " family men". I guess it has to do with what you grew up on. Like the beat

  • yeah, that's what the jerry springer show would look like if it showed a bunch of fighting kids, with hall and oates as the show's band.

  • Hall & Oates did an excellent job at incorporating the evolving trends in R&B/funk

into their music. This tune is one of the best examples of that fact.

  • It got up to #81 on the U.S. R&B chart in 1983 while "One On One"

got up to # 8 on that chart and "Say It Isn't So" got up to #45. In 1981"I Can't Go For That" reached #1 on the U.S. R&B Chart. In 1982, "Your Imagination" got up #45 and

and Maneater got up #78 on the U.S. R&B Chart. In 1984, "Method of Modern Love" reached #21 on the U.S. R&B chart

& "Out of Touch" reached #24 on that chart

  • You may find that it is worth the time to take a look and listen at the song lists that

have been posted to Itunes Ping that meld together rhythmically & stylistically

    compatible early/mid 80s R&B/funk songs and early/mid 80s synth pop/new wave

songs. There is a lot of music that was either forgotten or not ever learned

of but was very enjoyable or would be very enjoyable if it was rediscovered or discovered for the first time by people that enjoy this type of music.

    People like you?

  • I have researched these music categories for the past 9 years

and I have rediscovered tunes I had forgotten about or I discovered

new tunes that totally deserved the time it took to discover them.

In Itunes Store or Itunes Ping if you use the search terms "electrofunk" (as a single word) or "80s funk" the search result shall produce several lists that have "electrofunk" or "80s funk" in the playlist name in the "Playlist" category at the low left corner of the search result.

  • Click on the "more" link and once you have opened the next page that has

all of the Playlist search results for "electrofunk" or "80 funk",

you'll quickly find a bunch of lists that use the title "Ebony & Ivory Electrofunk".

  • These lists have songs that you may have heard before and enjoyed but forgotten

or songs that you may enjoy now but you have not heard before. These lists include album cuts

that were not released as singles and songs from lesser known artists such as

Laid Back, Mtume, Boys Don't Cry, and Dynasty.

  • I grew up in the 80's~ graduated in 84 and got married in 86~ LOVE Hall and Oats! ~ and this Song!

  • Turned 15 in 1983, MTV was so fun to watch back then.

  • @pastiepie68 You're so lucky, I'm 15 now and all they do are reality shows. I really wish I lived in the 80s

  • @GreggChelsea Man I lived it, was a teenager when this song came out, the 80's were great!!

  • Hall and Oates are the best Duet alive. I just think its rude that many people thought they were gay.

  • wow never ever saw this extended version before, thankyou so much for the post:)

my absolute favourite from these guys. relentless bass and a mad lead guitar (to an almost excentric sounding song i can almost smell KC!), outstanding :)m49

  • Great pop song or greatest?

  • this is a blast from the past of the REAL MTV era, when it was ALL music videos.I ser-i-ous-ly MISS that time.ONE too many reality shows on there now.But this video captures MORE than just "mullets" as its nostalgia.for example, the computerized "seductress" and "married man".That is one of the MAIN vices you had as a TEENIE-BOPPER was VIDEO GAMES.If you weren't feeding the .25 quarter slirpers at the Arcades, you some kind of HOME V.G system(Coleco,Atari,Nintendo,,so on,you get it).

  • Oh no! They're all wearing Darryl Hall mullets! It's an invasion!

  • This is the very best of the best of Hall & Oates AOR material imo.

  • Wow, nice quality!

  • @dharmaseed ...Thank you!

  • GO HOME AND BE A FAMILY MAN

  • Wow...big Hall and Oates fan AND Oldfield and I never knew it was Oldfield's song.

By the way, you should all check out Hall's more experimental Sacred Songs album with Robert Fripp...some nice stuff on there.

  • Wow...big Hall and Oates fan AND Oldfield and I never knew it was Oldfield's song.

  • ALE CZADDDDD!!!

CO PRAWDA OLDFIELD I TAK ZROBIŁ TO LEPIEJ ALE....

    JESTEM POD WRAŻENIEM.

  • The first time I heard this song was Playing GTA Vice City Stories. Now I cant stop listening to it.

  • I love the song, but speaking for myself only, I don't believe a word of it. It's a nice notion, but in reality I don't know of any man that is truly capable of resisting the charms and advances of a beautiful woman, I don't care who he is. Men are never sorry about their infidelity, they're just sorry for getting caught. It seems one woman is never enough for them even when they have a great, beautiful wife waiting for them at home. Can you say Tiger Woods? Am I bitter? You're damn right I am.

  • @crashintome100 Well speaking for myself only, i've been married for quite some time and have never stepped out on my woman. It's not like men are the only culprits, I work at an almost all woman workforce factory, they know me, know i'm married and some know my wife and they still don't care and i'm still not gonna forget I have a great gal to come home to!

  • @Atakith THEM DIRTY WHORES !!! ...... where are they ? they should be PUNISHED !! ... QUICKLY give me their names & numbers ....... lol

  • great tune!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • moustache to rule them all.

  • @martyzsongs hahahaha

  • @martyzsongs Awesome! Lol!

  • bellaaaaaaa............

  • Thank you GTA Vice City Stories.

  • A nice extended version of the one I have on my CD of Hall & Oates Greatest Hits. One of their best songs from the most successful music duo of all time, hands down!

  • It would be cool if Mike colaborated with them :P

  • I didn't know this was a remake....but nonethelesss, Hall and Oates did a fantastic job on it! I also like their remake of "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' ".

  • the guitarist is one of the best, he help train vai

  • LOL What a funny video:) Its been years but I still love the song

  • Thanks for the video! I like this so much!

  • the best sounding video of this song!!! i love the stereo mixes...

  • Hey nice stuff on GE. I remember he actually said that at a show a few years back and Great entertainment says it all.

Also GE Smith was playing bluesy guitar licks in the 80s and it worked great with this music! Much SRV did for david Bowie on the Lets Dance Album. Those two guys were the best in that field in the 80s GE & SRV! Also GE Joined H&O a few years ago in San Fran for some rockin stuff and this was one of them and his solos still rip on it!

  • I was born seven years after this album was released but i love it. Plus, the early 80s videos is great, though not many people appreciate the 80s like they should.

  • INDEED, well said.

  • @rgvcstupid lol This is such a funny video (OLD Fashion) its been years but I still love the song. Oh this is my hubbys acct

  • One of my favs in the clubs in the 80's!We couldn't sit still when this came on or when a band did this one!Love it! xxxx

  • great post
