japan wants a desert??? man i live in a desert region and it sucks during summer cuz is so friggin hot.......but it is also fun....idk why vbut it is....
I am sorry the video title is wrong. sand/wasteland does not always mean desert. a desert is a region that gets little to no rain. this is why american soldiers think iraq is a desert and they come all geared up with desert camo and boots only to find themselves in a marsh filled with green palms and reed.
ahh ii na! ni shukan mae ni boku wa kanojo to issho ni tottori sakyuu ni itte kedo aaatsuii!! okayama de sunde iru kara chikai deshou. fuyu no aida tottori sakyuu mita koto aru?? mitai node sakyuu ni yuki ga futteiru kirei sou!
darn so much sand can you email it to the UK? we need more sand here! lol i think the biggest width of our local beach dunes are only like a few hundred feet wide >.<
Loved your video, Hiroko san! These dunes remind me of the dunes near Monterey, CA. It does feel like a desert, with all the warm air and hot sand around you! Looking forward to your next video! ^_^
I am planning on traveling to Japan for my first time this summer! I think i want to visit Tottori now :-) I need to improve my 日本語 vocabulary first! ^^ ビデオがありがとう
haha! what a bussiness! I wonder how the camel would feel knowing their whole life was a LIE! they should head a little further over the Dune so they could chill on the beach!
I think there was enough sand to be considered a desert. lol. By the way, sugoi means amazing, right? I just started learning Japanese....so I might be wrong. LOL. Great video by the way.
I'm gonna be on an aeroplane heading to Japan (via Kuala Lumpur) this time next week ... I'll be there for two weeks, and ... probably won't get to see this place.
I hope I find my way around okay in Japan. I don't know much Japanese!
(It looks like the film/novel "Woman of the Dunes", in case my Japanese isn't right). I imagine they filmed the movie here? Great video. One of your best.
Oh my gosh...that looks like such a beautiful place. I swear I could just honestly rest in one spot for 3 hours and have the greatest time of my life just looking out into the sea...or - looking down the desert. GOSH...do I wish I was there.......MAN...I wanna go I wanna go I wanna go I wanna go I wanna go!

I'm also thinking I make a video of Tulips next time! ^0^ My town is very famous with Tulip✿I'm looking forward to watching Hiroko chan's tulip video too✿^-^
it really does look more like a desert, hmmm guess you'd have to go see it yourself, but the dune side of the sand texture is different from the one by the ocean!
i never would have put the words desert and japan in the same sentance lol. i saw enough desert in kuwait and iraq lol, but id love to see about anything else in japan :)
とにかく、そんな辺には良いな気持ち。けどよ、その警官っぽい男を見たら、「あ、気持ち悪いなー」と思った。At first I thought he was going to tell you that you weren't supposed to be in that area. I though he was an officer.^^ He was a very nice person though.
The dunes were created by sediment deposits carried from the Chūgoku Mountains by the Sendai River into the Sea of Japan. Sea currents and wind help bring the sand from the bottom up onto the shore, where the wind constantly rearranges their shape. The dunes have existed for over 100,000 years.
LoL @ 2:58 I could hear you say something of the like of . . . "You were suppose to follow me!?!". Whats this! You didn't get your feet wet? I could sense he was urging you to do so. Glad to see your are having good times 8)

Wow, thanks for the good memories! I was there 2 years ago - one of my favorite memories in Japan! It's quite a hike, huh? Did you see anyone jumping off of the sand dunes?
Have I seen you in videos with the glasses he wears at the end? >:P Heheh... Thanks for this video >:D Never knew it existed ! So far from Tokyo, but I wish I could go there when I visit for a few weeks :D
What on hell happen there? I mean there are trees that don't normally belong to a dessert. What kind of natural change could do this? And it's pretty huge... I don't know if it's good or bad, but it's amazing, Thank's for the video... It changes from the habitual but also important Fuji mountain.
@MrBigall The "ranger" told us that this "desert" has everything we need - plants, water, crops...so technically, it's not a desert but a sand dune. But with camels, it's more like a desert! XD
@HIROKOCHANNEL There is also something like this in Wales, but the funny thing is that it's not a tourist attraction, it's just left to be, lol. I think it's amazing.
