  • ふむふむ。勉強になったど♪

  • U are a talented girl. Good job ;-)))

  • Chubby White Boy Earl FTW!

  • I am sorry the video title is wrong. sand/wasteland does not always mean desert. a desert is a region that gets little to no rain. this is why american soldiers think iraq is a desert and they come all geared up with desert camo and boots only to find themselves in a marsh filled with green palms and reed.

  • that means you can film desert scenes for movies here at this location in japan for example, without having to go someplace else

  • haha! what a bussiness! I wonder how the camel would feel knowing their whole life was a LIE! they should head a little further over the Dune so they could chill on the beach!

  • There's a beach at the end of the desert

  • Thank you very much for the tour! I travel the world via the internet!

  • ok, ok, fine! It's a DUNE, technically not a desert!!! but when you r there, it feels like as if you are in a desert! ;-)

  • I think there was enough sand to be considered a desert. lol. By the way, sugoi means amazing, right? I just started learning Japanese....so I might be wrong. LOL. Great video by the way.

  • It's a desert, not a beach?

  • Yaaah, camels are so coool!!!!!!!

  • We have a lot of flat desert areas in Australia, that's one of the reasons I love Japan. Its so green, or white with snow & lots of cool mountains.

  • There are lots of places like this in Canada believe it or not!

  • I'm aching to visit Japan right now. great video.

  • I never knew there was a desert in Japan until watching this.

  • I'm gonna be on an aeroplane heading to Japan (via Kuala Lumpur) this time next week ... I'll be there for two weeks, and ... probably won't get to see this place.

I hope I find my way around okay in Japan. I don't know much Japanese!

I look forward to the tulip garden video. :-)

  • @ThatGuyFromYouTueb to survive you need to know two words

    biru kudasai

    and showing 1 finger ww

    have fun

  • 鳥取県は「砂の女」という映画のように見る。

(It looks like the film/novel "Woman of the Dunes", in case my Japanese isn't right). I imagine they filmed the movie here? Great video. One of your best.

  • Oh my gosh...that looks like such a beautiful place. I swear I could just honestly rest in one spot for 3 hours and have the greatest time of my life just looking out into the sea...or - looking down the desert. GOSH...do I wish I was there.......MAN...I wanna go I wanna go I wanna go I wanna go I wanna go!

  • 日本人だけど、鳥取砂丘、映像で初めて見た。ありがと^^

  • wow. that was really cool.

  • thats more like a beach than anything lol i live in a desert disguised as a city called el paso lol

  • At 4:35, you said it can fit 30 Tokyo what?

  • it really does look more like a desert, hmmm guess you'd have to go see it yourself, but the dune side of the sand texture is different from the one by the ocean!

  • Very kewl!

Desert though? It looked more like the beach to me... maybe with more sand. :P

Great video though... thanks for sharing.

  • 今ちょっと砂の女の本がもっと分かる。^^

  • "Hello I'm hiroko, look at me running for a hole minute and getting tired because I don't usually exercise"

At least that's what I've learned from this video ww

We can see here why carrying a purse is a waste of energy ww ^^

  • @SilverGunZoO He-LL-O! I'm fast-forwarding so I'm running more!lol

  • 早送りは面白かった。

    日本に砂漠なんて初耳ですよ。

  • i never would have put the words desert and japan in the same sentance lol. i saw enough desert in kuwait and iraq lol, but id love to see about anything else in japan :)

  • Hirokosan when you sped up the video the audio made the people sound like squirrels....and that was the biggest sand box ahahahah

  • I like rakuda. I only met one and his name was gomer. Have to make video with him one day.

  • This is amazing. I don't think I've ever seen anything like this.

  • where's the ATV's?

  • Hiroko when I saw the Camel part I was laughing! Pretty amazing!

At first I thought he was going to tell you that you weren't supposed to be in that area. I though he was an officer.^^ He was a very nice person though.

  • これはおもしろいですよ!

  • Whoa the water of the Sea of Japan looks alot like the water in Gisborne!

  • Id crawl inside a tire and roll down that big sand hill lol

  • @MiClLC Actually, the ranger said if you roll around there on winter you can make a dome just by rolling on the snow. lol

  • On wikipedia it says:

The dunes were created by sediment deposits carried from the Chūgoku Mountains by the Sendai River into the Sea of Japan. Sea currents and wind help bring the sand from the bottom up onto the shore, where the wind constantly rearranges their shape. The dunes have existed for over 100,000 years.

  • The camel ride in Saudi Arabia is almost 125 円 , but there are no cherry blossom trees as in Japan ^^, thanks for sharing this video, it is amazing

  • LoL @ 2:58 I could hear you say something of the like of . . . "You were suppose to follow me!?!". Whats this! You didn't get your feet wet? I could sense he was urging you to do so. Glad to see your are having good times 8)

  • "lol" at the frollicking.

  • Reminds me of Los Cabos Mexico, desert and mountains at one side, and the sea by the other.

  • Wow, as I watched the beginning, I thought they were building a catchment lake there (they built one here a few years ago and it looked exactly the same) but then I've seen the ocean. Looks beautifull!

  • I LOVEE JAPAANESE!! ;)

  • Very cool field trip.

  • Your English is very good. That is probably one place I'll have to check out whenever I visit Japan.

  • omoshiroi desu.

  • Are you sure that was a desert? Because it looked like a regular beach to me.

  • Is the surprise at the end our intrepid camera man? :D

  • @megamarsvin lol yes, and my very patient and nice boyfriend. ;-)

  • Is that really a desert or is it man made?

  • 2:46 sugoi kimochi...wonderful feeling

funny fast run, we enjoyed, tanoshikatta.

    gracias.

  • That's so awesome! We have a place like that here in California (I think its Pismo Dunes), where out of NOWHERE, as you approach the ocean, all you see are acres upon acres of sand dunes. A youth group of mine went off-roading in some 10-seat dune buggies; IT WAS SO MUCH FUN. xD

  • If I ever live in Japan, I'll just go there when I'm homesick. Hahaha

  • I don't know why but watching you play on the beach reminded my of that old Duran Duran song Rio.

    :P

  • That would be a great place to take a HPI Racing Baja 5B rc car to. They probably wouldn't allow it because of the noise, though.

I didn't know sand beaches were that rare in Japan. Great video.

  • @HIROKOCHANNEL ww このビデオをみたときに、「ファイナルファンタジ12みたい!」とおもった

There's a lot of desert places in Final Fantasy 12... this made me think of it XD

I've only been to the beaches of North Carolina, so this was quite a sight.

Off note, did you ever see the video response I made to one of your videos? It was the "Answers to some of your questions" one.

  • お久しぶりですね!

  • Wow, thanks for the good memories! I was there 2 years ago - one of my favorite memories in Japan! It's quite a hike, huh? Did you see anyone jumping off of the sand dunes?

  • Nice video, though, if there's a large body of water nearby isn't it technically a beach?

  • Wow, that's really cool. Now that FB picture makes sense. すごい奇麗だね.

  • I like the way u walk n run so cute

  • I like the wind noise, makes it feel like a beach or mountain.. looks like both

  • "Hountou ni?!"本当に?

  • Great Video!

  • would love to see that from close up some day (^-^)

  • japan is soo beautiful, i hope to move there soon

  • Have I seen you in videos with the glasses he wears at the end? >:P Heheh... Thanks for this video >:D Never knew it existed ! So far from Tokyo, but I wish I could go there when I visit for a few weeks :D

    Great stuff!

im also slowly rememebering my japanese thanks to u saying everything in english and japanese one after the other keep up the awesome vids :)

  • Cool desert-like desert :D And camels haha.. 鳥取砂丘 has got style I must say

  • "Im glad we're alive today" is that a particular Japanese saying? How do you say in romanji? Onigaishimasu!

  • @edtomorrow "Ikitete Yokatta!"生きててよかった〜!^_^

  • @HIROKOCHANNEL damn I'll never understand the te form -_-

  • actually it seens more like a big beach than a desert

  • @v2791 it's a desert, and also a beach next to it. strange, huh? :)

  • What on hell happen there? I mean there are trees that don't normally belong to a dessert. What kind of natural change could do this? And it's pretty huge... I don't know if it's good or bad, but it's amazing, Thank's for the video... It changes from the habitual but also important Fuji mountain.

  • @MrBigall The "ranger" told us that this "desert" has everything we need - plants, water, crops...so technically, it's not a desert but a sand dune. But with camels, it's more like a desert! XD

  • @HIROKOCHANNEL There is also something like this in Wales, but the funny thing is that it's not a tourist attraction, it's just left to be, lol. I think it's amazing. Type in 'desert of wales' into google and you can see some pictures. I don't think the sand is very deep in the Welsh 'desert' though, because there are also patches of heath and rock which show through.

  • In America, in North Carolina there is a place called Jockeys Ridge. It is a large sand dune near Kitty Hawk. (That is where the Wright brothers first flew) It is a popular tourist spot. Kids fly kites and adults fly hang gliders. But there are no camels. Hey that gives me an idea!

  • @usaverageguy what what! XD

  • @HIROKOCHANNEL Camel rides at Jockeys ridge. You get the camels and I will do the rest.

  • @usaverageguy I've been there. It's very nice

  • thank you so much, i never knew such a place existed. it's so cool and pretty!

  • Wow never though Japan would have a desert. Next to the sea/ocean aswe!l!

  • That was great!

  • Very cool, The water looks likes it freezing.

  • Wow, that's amazing. Do you most Japanese people know about this?

  • @iFukuyama Many know that the existence of the place but not many have been or seen the actual place. i'm so blessed!!!^^

  • Never thought of Japan having a desert.

  • Its a good thing I Subscribed :F

  • kireina! ^_^

  • @HIROKOCHANNEL nice one! when u'll marry go to Lençóis Maranhenses in Brazil for ur honey moon, you'll never forget it, it's B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!!! ^__^

  • @Willbrse Invitation, por favor? ;)

  • @HIROKOCHANNEL You also know Portuguese? That is also amazing Tu tambem sabes falar Português? Isso é espantoso....
