@WWFstunna13 Mufflers are Summit Turbo Mufflers... I can´t recomment them, because they are quite loud inside the car (heavy droning). Sound from outside the car is really awesome at higher revs (4000+) to my mind...
@MrRoadkill48 Inline engines are naturally buzzy sounding when there wound up, due to the firing cycle.. some love it, some hate it.. Auto's kill it, because they have an awesome rap when shifting and decelerating.
@mitch9521 you can push them to about 300HP on a turbo and still have them drivable with stock cylinder head. With the Aussie head or classic inlines head, more is attainable
@Dmaggioarcangeli AK Miller had a turbo kit in the 60's. can still be found from time to time used, but it's an antique now, and better turbos can be had for better for cheaper, adapted with fabrication skills. Isky makes a turbo cam for the 144-250 which is the same 1 AM Miller used in the 60's. It's mild, but it is an off the shelf cam that will work
@farnsworth14 Noooo, only 170 in 64 1/2 .... 200 after that 65- 68 ? than 250 in 69 - 73 ..... they went back for the inline six (200) only in Mustang III at the beginning in early ~80 - than only i4, v6, v8 ....
My 1980 ghia sounded tougher than that. and it was all stock. except for the cat removed. it even had AC RUNNING. Dude post a pic of u GUNNING it all out. need to hear it and c the speedometer.
I managed to get the same sound out of my 81 Mustang when the muffler rusted out. Can't beat how sturdy those inline 6s are.

these straight 6 mustangs are pretty gutless from the factory, but do they have any potential to be fast?

lifters are hydraulic, strange noise from under the hood comes from broken header gasket....
