well that argument has two sides. You say the IRA's attacks were wrong so they shouldn't have had their demands met. On the other hand catholics were 2nd class citizens. Denied jobs, housing, and rights. It wasn't until the IRA took action that we finally got somewhere. This seems all true but, if the choice was to move down south to a better country and predominantely catholic Ireland, where you would have all of these rights plus freedom of the press to gain some measure of retribution against those who were oppressing you, why would you want to remain victims in Northern Ireland just out of spite. You can't really say we stayed out of spite. It's quite hard to all of a sudden up and leave. First there's the fact you've lived there all your life so obviously there is emotional attachments. Then there's the financial part. It's pretty difficult to start a new life from scratch. Also the south would maybe overcrowd. Imagine a whole state in USA moved to another state to escape discrimination. There would be to many problems with population and job issues etc You can't just go for a quick fix
