Lest we never forget the needy, whatever the circumstances to their plight. Well done to the person who decided to put this on youtube, it just goes to prove there are some that care in this turbulent world.
I was homeless for four years, and at this time of year I thank God that I am not on the streets. I remember my friends at this time who died of homeless related problems. God Bless you, especially Harry...RIP
If you listen to this song, you can have a nice peaceful sleep, and then someone can turn on the Anti-Nowhere League's version and WAKE YOU THE F**K UP! haha! :D
This song always reminds me how lucky i am to have a roof over my head food in my Belly hate the way society moans about trival things when they go home to electricity, food and all the trappings . homeless people would love to moan about trivial things like oh no the golfs on tv im missing eastenders ETC
more to the point, at the end of the well put together pics, it says "this can't go on much longer" we send billions in aide to other countries, but neglect to think about our own people.... does NOT make sense to me?!?!
thank you soo much you have made me realise how much i do have i know i live in a council house and can barely afford to go out with my mates and stuff, but at least i have something and for that i am truly grateful thank you you have made me change my ways xxx
It's been many years since Ralph wrote this song and it keeps resurfacing as many fine artists have covered it. Guess that is because the song is perenially true - which is sad.
This song says so much !!! if only we all acted on the words of this song then there would be far less sadness or suffering for so many people in our world, if we all helped just one person each then we would all make such a positive difference for so many who suffer a daily existence...
@sxitezza Thanks, I appreciate it. I think my comment sounded more negative than I intended. I know I have friends and everything -- it's just that, because of some strange flaw in my perception, I sometimes feel alone even when I'm surrounded by caring people. And I don't think I'm the only one who has that problem.
ITS A ABSOLUTE DISGRACE TO SEE VETERANS AND ENGLISH PEOPLE LIVING ON STREETS IN LONDON. HOW DO IMIGRANTS GET RIGHTS IN THIS SO CALLED ENGLAND.WHEN EASTERN EUROPEAN SCROUNGERS/ CRIMINALS/ BEGGARS SEEM TO BE LOOKED AFTER MORE THAN DESERVING UK BORN PEOPLE. GOVERMENT SHOULD HOLD THERE HEADS LOW.
@ajdobmeister7 Ignorance and very sad. Those Eastern European scroungers are working all hours for their families whilst the English are the scroungers I'm afraid.
@ajdobmeister7 Its all economy and lack of press, but its no use blaming immigrants, they never would want to cause this. Trust me, Im good friends with many of them
@ajdobmeister7 Comments like your amuse me...Britains wealth was forged upon murder rape and theft for well over 200 years...and you think people who were born here have a specific entitlement...It's just pathetic that people STILL think like this in 2011.
@ajdobmeister7 You clearly don't 'get' this song. It is nothing to do with nationality; it is about those poor buggers that have nothing, whoever they are.
@ajdobmeister7 Eastern european people are also people. I don't see why uk born people should be treated better. After all both groups live now in the uk and if they would be treated by their origin it would be discrimination.

What is the name of this paper...at 4.24.I'd like to read it properly,. Anyone know please let me know too....THANKS TO ALL HERO'S WHETHER IN FORCES OR JUST BEING GOOD PARENTS.
I remember back in the early 70s they would sit in the Jo Lyons tea shops having a cuppa I think people were a lot more sympathetic then. I think especially because alot of the homeless that were around then were shellshocked old war veterens and old ladies that were dispossessed, the benefit system back then was almost non existent. Thank god the salvation army was around they helped so many people
This video is soo fitting and makes the point of the song, that much clearer!!! makes ya feel guilty for having bad days when ya see how bad some people have it!!!!
i love this song! the pictures describe the song so darn well and it makes me really sad that there are so many poor, sick and homeless poeple, not just in london, but everywhere:(
come to California and see enough homeless you wont need these lyrics as due to nazi-run actors like Reagan (every cabinet member 8 years gov 8 years prez picked from list drawn up by Helene Von Damm HItlers own secretary, protege' of Otto Von Bolschwing & Reinhardt Gehlen, who ran Hitler's eastern Intel Ops, imported to run Pentagon's same dept having killed 20 million Russian soldiers + more counting civilians without whose heroism we'd all be sieg heiling those allowed to live.
This song was actually the only sang that gave me goosebumps just by reading its lyrics... "for one more forgotten hero and a world that doesn't care."
I think there can't be a single person who doesn't adore this song!
Thanks for the upload snakeeyesss11, when he sings about the old man outside seamans mission with the memory fading and metal ribbons it chokes me up as my grandfather was a Londoner who fought in the war and he alway refers to his medals as his ribbons but he has alzheimers now and is in a care home.
I like the songs. Made me think about quite a lot of things. I mean that I am wondering how people can complain about having too many things to do, too much stress or just not the flashscreen Tv they'd like to own, while there are people who have to sleep on banc the same time? I really hope that I am going to get all my things managed after school...
