not new york but def northern accent, im from maryland which is a melting pot of accents i've heard em all here and you are def north...you should hear the baltimore accent, its a mix of the south and something goofy..tough to explain lol

I'm from VA and I have been pretty to WV a lot. I can see why she would think you have an accent. VA accents and WV accents are totally different. To a person from WV it would seem like you have a NY accent. I dont think yours is much differnt from mine though and I have lived in VA my whole life.

I used to go to northern VA a lot and its not a strong southern accent but there's most def a VA accent, like I said it's not real strong but if your not from there you hear it the second someone talks to you...me n my mom used to laugh at it

Well, i grew up in V.A. most of my life and i can tell that you have an accent.

Please note that EVERY ONE has an accent it is just that people in all parts of the counrty talk differently. I have a V.A. accent and a N.Y. accent my friends say I now have a N.Y. accent when im on the phone with them but i have a bit of the V.A. still there

yes a bit of an accent. Not just the words, but you talk kinda fast and the words are kinda clipped sounding. But its not harsh sounding. Just kinda fast. I'm from Virginia.

You do have a small accent... But probably wouldn't be able to notice it if you hadn't said so (i.e. Id assume it was general American). I dont know if it sounds New Yorkish (I wouldnt really say so), but there is something there.

yes, i won't know if it was exactly new york. when i was in new york i notice a lot of transplants who didn't have an accent. so im not a great expert on the new york accent. however, i can tell you're from the east coast. would have probably guest philidelphia or new jersey to be quite honest.
