The 18th Amendment was ratified a year earlier but didn't take effect until Jan. 1920. However, some states already had state-wide bans on alcoholic beverages, so bootlegging would have already been taking place.
The "Third Baseman" of those White Sox was Buck Weaver, and Buck Weaver had NOTHING to do with the World Series Fix.
Buck Weaver batted .324 in the World Series, and his Fielding was Perfect. No one suspect Buck Weaver to be in on the take, with these Crooked Ball Players.
Buck Weaver solely got penalized, for not "Ratting On His Friends".
This is true. Admittingly, not a lot of research was put into this piece. (I mean, the bad guy is a character from "The Great Gatsby"). It was done as a school project and our shot of 3rd base was our best shot, so the third baseman was villianized
Thank you for agreeing with me. Oh, and by the way, the "Big Wig" who set this thing up was Arnold Rothstein.
I will admit, I knew nothing about this, until I actually saw the movie "Eight Men Out" 20 years ago. Ever since that movie, I have been studying plenty of the Black Sox Scandal.
But if the Sox were to have a better owner, maybe the Sox would have killed the Reds in 1919. Who knows.
What was classic is Eddie Cicotte promised a $10,000 Bonus that he was cheated out of.
Hey, I'm doing a video on this for History Day. If you can give me some tips and stuff cause I really like your video it would be awesome. Just send me a message. Thanks

Its Rothstein not Wolfshine,
Wolfshine is the name given to him in The Great Gatsby.

Bootlegger? The Black Sox Scandal happened the year Prohibition was passed, 1919, so I don't think the ban on alcohol was in effect yet.

Wow, I'm surprised of the lack of attendence at the World Series, I guess baseball just hadn't quite come around yet.

Nice feat but the audio is horrible You should re-do the narration.
