Digging is an addiction, a lifestyle,. Once you start it just pulls you in....Nothin beats the feelin of finding that elusive track you've been after for years, or discovering something amazing just by chance. Man, I climb the walls if i don't get my regular fix of vinyl !!!
Also, you gain so much knowledge and respect for the original artists and the history and progression of music...

Diggin' in the crates. These words that mean "A record box is raided" and "Beat diggin" represents an important intangible element in any hip-hop DJ, who expresses themself by using existing music and the chopping and sampling it during production. This work
"DEEP CRATES" is a documentary that aims to focus on the DIgging element.

and they dont have to wear stupid chains and blinged out watches . pete rock in his dusty vest gets more props from me then any fuck wearing a prada or gucci suit
i have a cousin trying to get in the hip hop game and all he does is go online for break beats thinking hes digging -- then he plays around with his mouse and pro tools for about 3-4 hours and still aint got shit popping --- fruity loopy - pro tools fools -- young kids today dont understand and thats why rap music sucks today lil waynes the hottest rapper out now and hes wack as ever --
man yur talkin about me, i chop samples in protools and throw breaks on top, it dosnt mater what you use, it only matter what it sounds like (in pro tools you can filter 25.1 khz/ 12bit )
but computer make you jump through hoops buffer sizes all that shit were as hardwere is just there
@sonnicheeba this argument has been made since ragtime turned to jazz...it's always going to be changing and there will always be old guys complaining.
@sonnicheeba fruity loops and pro tools are just programmes, tools to make music, if you use them that doesn`t make you wack, some people can`t afford for example an mpc , should it stop them from makin music? i don`t think so, it doesn`t matter how you do it as long as it`s good. I heard 9th wonder was/is using FL but he`s still one of the best beatmakers today, and yes lil wayne is wack, but the underground still lives and there are good records still coming out
@sonnicheeba wayne aint the hottest rapper out u biased fuck wayne aint even relevant to be honest the hottest rapper alive is dmx RIDE R DIE RUFF RYDAZ U STUPID FUCK
We do Lionsome! The problem is is that the groups of today don't give you your props. I'm a 70's baby & came up in hiphop. I love you guys for what you have done & so do many others! Sampling what you guys made is a different way of musical expression for our generation. We sample it, make a phat track with bass & drums, let somebody nice spit on the track, & you have it! Don't get it twisted, it's plenty of us out here that commend you & all the others before us that paved the way for rap!
I won't give you props lionsome because your not a great musician and will probably never be worth sampling, but I will give the Great musicians that I sample props
I'm constantly buying old CDs....("Everybody's records" in Cincinnati.)I go to grocery stores, drug stores & buy $2 & 3 cds.Somtimes you get lucky, somtimes you don't,its like gambling.Eventualy I'ma buy an old turntable so I can buy the shit the aint got on CDs yet...So I can keep making fat beats !!!
you have to have a love for diggin' to understand why we spend every free thin dime we have on records. i gotz to have fresh sounds to lace my AKAI with!lol!

I agree with Sinosure. If it wasnt for people like James Brown or Al Green the tradition of sampling records wouldnt exist.
