I think the biggest problem ya see with most rigs is that guy's have to many pouches on em. Think baout hwat you realy need, use KISS, keep it simple stupid =)
Simple chest rigs are cheaper, lighter, but still pack a punch. I use the
''mayflower active shooter rig'' and I love it. It holds just enough to get me outa trouble should I need it. It has no MOLLE on it wich in this case is actually a good thing. Google it you guy's might like it !
I was looking at a gun magazine the other day, and i noticed you were in it with this exact chest rig i could clearly tell by the tournoquette the red cord on your emt an your medical shears. i was extremely suprised to see you.
Good eyes.. our guys are actually in a few different magazines / books, both in advertisements and articles (keep looking you'll find us again I'm sure)
Being active in the community results in coverage we don't always expect, LOL
The main body of this rig is actually three sheets of cordura sewn together. You the front sheet of cordura that the FB mag pouches are attached to. It has another sheet of cordura (with the camo facing the wearer) sewn onto the back of the first strip. And then the third strip which forms the backing of the internal pocket.. ;-)
ITW Web Dominators are awesome! Not only can you use them to retain extra webbing, but they would just as well to retain your trauma sheers. Just use one of the empty PALS slot by the top of your sheers, and then feed the loop through the handles, and fasten the cord on the retainer. No more worried about it sliding out!
A strip of double-sided velcro works great securing extra webbing (and sheers) too!
Great review, I'm lookin to get that same Eagle rig. The straps are one thing I wish they changed, but now that I see that you can swap out the original straps to a secondary H harness I'm stoked! Thanks
For excess webbing you can cut loops out of bicycle tyre tubes. Narrow tubes for 1' webbing, wide tubes for 2'. ITW web dominators are meant for 1'. Tubes work just as good and are inexpensive. It's what we do in the spanish army.
For excess webbing you could try the web dominator by maxpedition its the best thing ive found. Its not as low profile as tape but you can adjust it when needed

I need a set up for a sniper challenge.
YOWHATTHEHELLUP71 8 months ago
@hackysaac
nope, we know what we own, this is eagle with an ATS harness
GearBuyersGuide 1 year ago
Nice rig do you know if that one would fit AK mags?
Thanks
manuelcardenas77 1 year ago
@manuelcardenas77
it's not made for them, so the pouches are a bit low for 30 AK mags.. but one will fit in each easily

So like, why do you think it's an Eagle Industries chest rig, when it says ATS on it?

I don't know what happened with my last comment. My grammar went right down the toilet...
One line should have read, "but they work just as well.." and, "No more worrying about it sliding out."
Drinking and typing don't mix.. lol

Another great review!
I just snagged one of these Eagle chest rigs on Ebay for $50 shipped!
SKDTAC sells these for $69 (plus shipping.) So this was a fantastic deal. The seller has more if anyone on here sees this...

I would use your combat loadout for training, cause you'll fight with it.

will the pouches be able to hold ak mags? And thank your for the video it was very informative.
tyler1768 2 years ago
In mine, steel AK mags work fine doubled up, but the polymer style is too big for two, so just one per pouch
GearBuyersGuide 2 years ago
buy the looks of it it might possibly from the size of some of themags
theJaCkOkAoS 2 years ago
@tyler1768 Eagle industries makes a dedicated AK rig just like this one.

this isn't eagle , it's ATS

great idea, thanks, I have some old tires, I'll give that a try
GearBuyersGuide 2 years ago
@GearBuyersGuide when you do it, unweave the webbing through the buckle, insert the elastic loop, and weave the webbing back through the loop.
That way it's secure to the webbing.
Experiment with different lengths of cut for different elastic strenght.
take care.
Cantabron1988 2 years ago
Just realized those are quick detach buckles! lol you only need to do that on the fixed buckles like on backpacks.

juggernautbjj77 2 years ago
would hold better than tape I'm sure, but I haven't used a 2" wide one, it might be kinda big, no??
GearBuyersGuide 2 years ago
I dont know if they make a 2" one. If they do you should get it and make a vid for it

can soldiers buy this and through it over their body armor or is that a no go?
USAALLTHEWAY1able 2 years ago
You'll need to ask soldiers.. I know I couldn't go buy whatever gear I felt was better or whatever.. things change though
I assume the more elite forces can make more of their own decisions on gear
