  • what do you use as reward?

  • Alas...now I finally understand how Obama was elected! It all makes sense now.

  • Very good work! This is inspiering!

  • sheep are clever not stupid who shears them

  • Very cool vid!!!!!

  • this is so wonderful! i've watched it so many times now.. lovely sheep and talented trainer! sheep are not stupis, but there are few sheep who get the oppurtunity to show how trainable they are..

    this is lovely<3

  • I've watched this so many time and it kills me every time! Great proof of the power of positive reinforcement!

Some commenters below are asking what breed the lamb is - I believe she is a hair sheep. They have hair instead of wool.

  • are there tiny miniature lambs that can be pets? like in your home?

  • this is fantastic...the power of clicker training is amazing :0)

  • Thank you for the motivation and inspiration to try and train my lamb Greta :-)

  • Credit to the trainer and the sheep. Dynamic duo!

  • this is the coolest sheep on earth!

  • Pretty cool!

  • that little lamb has wonderful and patient owners. :o)

  • well sheep are considered the 8th smartest animal, so i'm not suprised that lamb could learn that :P

i think im gonna teach my sheep agility now :D

  • it's amazing!

  • what sheep species that one? cute te

  • is a mix sheep

Ile de france with a portuguese breed

  • @educacao67 Is it bred with a goat?

  • This is a great video. I do agility with my dog. I would never think to do it will a sheep! I have seen pig and even cats but this is the first sheep. Nice job you are a wonderful trainer. I tried to train my rats with a clicker but they were never that interested.

  • Brilliant!!! That sheep is adorable...and the "border collie" ain't bad neither! =;-D

  • Para bems! Inacreditavel!

  • This is inspiring, thank you lovely people!!

  • Amazing, I almost forgot its a sheep not a shepherd.

    Such a lovely video.

  • iv herd that sheep are retarded ? is this true

  • Nooooooooo...No, not really

You can see itnow two years lather in the video:

    Hotel dogs Educacão

  • The reason we think goats are smart and sheep are dumb is because goats like humans and sheep as a rule will have nothing to do with humans. Who is smarter?

  • My sheep were just as smart as my border collies. They knew how to open gates, know how to read dogs and I could move them with whistle commands without the dogs. Their behavior when attacked by coyotes doesn't make sense to us but that doesn't mean they are stupid.

  • This guy must have imprinted the lamb at birth so he could "train" it.

Great job it should inspire all the dog people to quit eating sentient. Chickens, Cows, Sheep and the smartest farm animal of all, the pig are literally tortured to death in confined animal feeding operations so we can get a hamburger for a dollar.

  • Cool. Loved it.

  • ah wow this is brilliant, i'd love to try clicker training on some bright north ronaldsays i look after

  • Fantastic. 5* and a favorite. :-)

  • a real fav:-) I love it.

Good luck toe the both of you

  • Oh gosh! I love this video!!! eeee!

  • i never knew sheep were so clever

  • clever..

  • omg thats soo cute!

  • what...? oh yeah! now I got it....

  • this lamb is good dressed! It is intelligent and It's children will learn it faster then normal lambs

  • Isn't that an Argentine bill goat?

  • WOW That is really cool!! I'm considering myself to get a clicker, although for my dog lol!!! But Good job!

  • I wonder why are you always treating there, where the behavior happens? I mean that clicker is the bridge between the behavior and the treat. For example if the sheep has to go back to you for the treat you don't have to call her out of the box. Or is that because of difference between a dog and sheep training?

  • we had two month to train this sheep for a movie; the box trainning she had some dificulties in getting out for her self; when trainning the other targets I treat there to keep her in her place. This was the exercice most used on the movie. thanks for your interesting

  • Thank you! Thank you! For this great video. It is very inspiring and beautiful. I am sure that in some way it will help dispute some untruths about animals and their capabilities, thoughts and feelings. Wonderful job! Congratulations to you and your talented little friend!

  • keep your arguements off the video posts. No one likes to see your pointless blather.

  • es cierto, se puede adiestrar cualquier animal que oiga con cliker

  • cools:) nice music! what is it?

  • The Pogues - Dirty Old Town

  • is this in new zealand. it wouldnt suprize me if it was

  • No is in Portugal thanks

  • so its not cruel for a sheep to literally be eaten inside out by flies and maggots, just because its natural for them to have a tail...

  • If only people would relize how intelligent these animals are!

I've got a doberman I've been trying to teach agility tricks for 3 years and he still wont go through the hoop or tunnel!

and Im so glad you didnt dock his tail.

I know many farmers have to dock their tails because of flystrike but I still dont like it.

You look like a wonderful loving owner.

    And your sheep is beutiful!

  • actually docking is to prevent diseases. My sheep's tails are docked. Otherwise pooh would get caked on them and that is not good. Please do your research before you go saying that docking lambs tails isn't good. ;)

  • holy shit no need to call names!! I'm for one NOT A guy so don't assume so....shit....And I have done my fucking research so maybe you SHOULD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm done with this you're making it soo fucking huge. Just fuck off.

  • actually I didn't start the cuss fight. That was you. ;) I dont see why you're making it such a huge fucking deal. JUST DROP IT NOW!!!!

  • Uhm actually you're the stupid one. I was not butting in....everyone has the right to reply to one others comment. I have given you like three chances to drop it and get lost and you keep coming back. You obviously enjoy being a BITCH!!!!!!!

  • hahahahah!!!!

You have just confirmed that you are a stupid bitch!!

Now as you stuck your ugly mug in and started this why dont YOU drop it!

  • actually lilyandjack, you did start it.

  • Excelente Fernando.

    Un abrazo desde Málaga

    Isa&Galileo

  • Aww the sheep is sooo cute XD

  • Cool, I just wondered this very day, whether a sheep is trainable, and well, now I've just got my proof! A clickertrained agilysheep :D

Great video, I really enjoyed watching it! It really makes one smile <3

  • UMM IS IT A DOG OR SHEEP

  • Sheeps are cute.

    I love their furry body.

  • This is WONDERFUL! I have clicker trained horses and have been thinking about trying to clicker train my baby goat for agility. Now I'm truly inspired! I also have a year-old pet lamb named Louie and since seeing this, I think I might clicker train Louie too. Thank you SO much for posting this video.

  • Clicking for the right state of mind and the right attitude make learning quicker.

  • wow! amazing little cute angel sheep. i really enjoy watching her.

  • omg thats so funny i can't even train my dog to do agility haha

  • it's tail is still there!?! Where I take care of sheep we take their tails off as babies.

  • I can't speak for this particular case, but in some areas, like where I live, docking sheep is illegal. Maybe that's the case there too?

  • oh... alright. cool.

  • Docking their tails? As far as I know, I THINK it is legal in the US. It's a matter of hygiene -- docking their tails can prevent sheep from getting flystrike and other parasitical infections.

  • I understand that, but unfortunately it is not always carried out in a humane fashion, which is one of the reasons many are opposed to it, especially in the cases where there are alternatives. Try for instance to google picture of "mulesing", which is also done to "protect" the animals but in a rather gruesome way. In some countries, docking is illegal and the animals evidently do fine anyway, maybe they have different ways of dealing with the problems there, I don't know :)

  • Docking and mulesing are very different processes, though. As far as I know, and I'm by no means an expert, most docking is done by the use of a tail band, which is virtually painless to the sheep, even if it sounds a bit unpleasant to us. I don't know any shepherds who still practice mulesing with their sheep. It's quite a dated practice.

There are other ways to prevent parasites from taking up residence in a sheep's hind end, of course... But docking also makes it easier to shear a sheep. :)

  • Actually mulesing is still done in areas, and has only been phased out gradually since a few years back.

All I was saying, is that there are countries where docking is illegal, and the sheep still manage to do fine. I've been involved a lot in the dog world, where likewise some countries still allow docking, and I've seen many cases of it being rather... unpleasant, at best, for the animals involved.

  • Unbeliveable

  • They say sheeps are stupid

Now you can see they are not!!!:D

  • i tried to use a clicker to attract my sheep but they ran away :(

  • Wow, that's just great. Can the sheep also herd some Border Collies?

  • OOOOHHHH! That little lamb is so precious. They're like little angels.

  • Cute! amazing!

  • Bueno, Fernando! this is great! Good work!

  • Excellent training; timing, criteria and food placement all very well thought out. Cool editing, too!

  • amazing sheep, great music. what more could u want people?

  • ...u have a sheep for a pet? anyways its adorable

  • ADORABLE!!!!

  • omg! that is so cute to see a lamb in training

  • This is absolutely incredible. What patience!! I attempted to train my dogs to agility, with only partial success. I also raise sheep, some are pretty smart, but I can't imagine having the time to train one to do all that you have accomplished!! Bravo!!

  • Wonderful! My sheep does some tricks but now I wish I'd started her on clicker training when she was a lamb. I might try anyway. THANKS for sharing (PS - been to Cascais several times - lovely place and best seafood in Portugal!) - Kathryn
