@Btu555 Noup. Yet, you can go to ahead and google "iPhone warranty check apple" and put your iPhone's serial number :)!

@Btu555 You only have to get the serial of the iPhone, then google "apple warranty by serial" (it would be one of the first ones). Then get your serial code and put it in the field provide by apple's webpage. It will tell you if your iPhone is refurbished or not.

any refurbished product directly from apple will not have any scratches. they always come with new outer shells.

Yet, the phone was very good, I sold it a while ago since I tried to go to blackberry, which didn't work out. Now I am back to my iPhone 3GS not the same device I bought though.

If I was you, I'll just ignore them because I got since September with mine and it is perfectly working :). Does are just myths. A refurbished Iphone 3GS has the same possibility to broke as a non refurbished Iphone 3GS. Therefore, don't hesitate buy it and be happy bro :)!

Ok let me explain it to you real quick. If you buy a new one the price is $199. Yet, if you have a contract with AT&T and you ate not eligiable for an upgrade, you have to pay an upgrade fee $18, the full price of the phone (if you buy a new it will cost you $400; whereas the refurbished one will cost you $227 (with taxes). Usually, the come in perfect conditions. Since those Iphones are the ones that other people receive and discover there is something wrong with it and send it back so that Apple or AT&T could fix them and resell them as refurbished. I will definitely recommend the refurbished one!
