The word BULGAR has Turkic origins and means MIXTURE. Bulgaria was populated by 7 or 8 tribes that came from different regions. Only Slavic tribes were in the south-east(Pirin) and north-east-close to serbia and hungary. Bulgaria was ruled by KHANS, like Khan Kubrat and Khan Asparuh. That is NOT a slavic title. The people of FYROM are Bulgarians, the Ancient Makedonia was Hellenistic. There is no such thing as a Makedonian identity, it's a way to describe a regional identity, and FYROM tries to make it an identity.
