Haha, anything can happen, and yeah, I think it's set while he's still a kid, although that still doesn't match because in the movie, after he finds out he's Zeus' son, he trains to gain strength shortly after. If we're referring to the actual Hercules Myth, then all this never happened and it's just the most tragic tale ever. Look it up sometime if you haven't already, it's just the complete opposite of the Disney version :p

Aphrodite not exactly my favourite Greek goddess ( actually shes my least) but I love her in this show and especially that it's Lisa kudrow. May I point out the irony that she was named after the Greek titan Phoebe in friends and now she's Aphrodite :L
