@KutaPutatrue.the final cut was to me,the last great pink floyd album.sounds so much like the wall.underrated.i miss a new pink floyd album.please david,be inspired and it s about time for a division bell follow up.your friend,KATE.
@KutaPuta when Waters wrote the song for his father, who died in WWII, the other band members felt it was too personal to put in the album. Idk what Waters did or said to convince them to put it in the movie, but it made it into the movie, and the song was put on TFC. The final cut is basically what it's name means. All the songs that didn't fit into the Wall made up the album.
@motleyflush My friend said that this song reminds me of when the Allies firebombed the German city of Dresden. His grandfather was a solider in the Nazi party and was burned alive when they firebombed the city. Why are you so ignorant?
It breaks my heart to witness the slow surrender of modern Britain to Islamo-fascists everyday, and how the Sacred memories of those who sacrificed all have been defiled by such vested interests. Being from one of the former colonies of empire, I am no fan of it all the way, but there is no denying of the fact that it was indeed a great example of governance based upon human rights for its time, far superior than the Islamic Crookes that laid waste to my motherland before British came for good.
@GtForLife123 Also men back then were strong and brave-but not ashamed to admit when they were scared. None of this bullshit posturing and "gangsta" looks and talk . God bless my Grandfather and men like him.
War isnt always caused by powerful people, that's liberal garbage. It'll happen as long as there are people, because thats what people do. No idealism.
Roger is a true artist. Out of all the music that has sustained my soul over the decades his is perhaps apex of my consumption. It is shameful that the human condition is plagued by such nonsensical horrors such as war and the pain and suffering left behind in its brutal wake. R.I.P. to Roger's father and the myriad others who gave all to serve the appetite of the entitled few.
It would be powerful stuff to hear similar songs written about modern events... Afghanistan and Iraq... and the experiences of the troops and their families and the civilians whose lives are being wrecked by the machinations of those in power and those who want that power.
The British had more than 300,000 killed and the Germans 250,000. Nearly 700,000 killed in all. Just because they done what they were told. sorry they were not hero's, they were fodder
@alpatranss GO jump off a bridge....obviously not, so if your not prepared to do as I say why do as anyone else would say....FREE SPEECH MY FUCKING ARSE!!!
Psycopaths, sycophants and murderers wages wars, and the "heroes" are the poor people who are lied to and forced or deceived into fighting their infamous wars. Germans, English, Russians, Americans.... They all look the same when cut down by bullets, or torn apart by shell.
Tears and a chill down my back every time I watch and hear this!
Pink Floyd is and will always be my favorite band. They made ONE bad judgement. That was not to include this wonderful song in "The Wall" LP but as a single! Aside "Another Brick in the Wall part 2", "Comfortable Numb" and "Goodbye Cruel World" this is the best!
@MrDonegalboy if you are refering to protestants then you have it all wrong m8 irish republicans have been known to help the nazis, RULE BRITANNIA. GOD SAVE THE QUEEN
Can't help but watch this song with but for tears of my Grandad that came from Belfast to help the British fight the Nazi's.I wonder how mant would be wiling to do that now??!!!
@alpatranss - you're an arsehole, we'd all be speaking german if it was left to cunts like you "only retarded men go to war" see how far you'd get saying that if the nazis had won, you'd be shot. Think before you write something about someones grandad who fought for our right to free speech in the first place.

I'll always associate thus song with "The Wall".
1rhpsfan 4 months ago
@1rhpsfan i think final cut was meant to be part of the Wall...
not the movie just more or less part of the same Album
or songs that could not fit on the album
Sadly final cut is way to often overlooked

Fuck all society's wars. Because not one of them would have been waged if it weren't for society, money and imaginary lines.
But as always saying that effects next to nothing, but this is an excellent song.
