I bought this song off musicnotes awhile ago and theres one part where it says improv freely in a major then switches to a aoeliation (sp?) and it has the scale written in on the music and ive always just played the scale. Then I actually heard the recording and what he had done and I was in love. I figured it out by ear, the part is so beautiful. It took a few days but it was worth it. I have a few of his books too, I love his music.

This is my favorite song period. I've never felt such joy and sorrow simultaneously. Lanz with Faces of the Forest evokes a spiritual awakening I never knew was inside me - thanks David!

The first song i ever learned to play on the piano was Cristofori's Dream. i have tons of his sheet music laying around but i've never heard most of the songs. I was particularly interested in this one....its beautiful.

@xiBinkC Awesome, I look forward to it. I do have the sheets though, I bought his book. There are parts of this song where it's really just improv. He uses about 4 measures of a chord progression in A minor (an example) and plays correspondingly in other octaves. It's really fun though, you could go for much more than 10 minutes. This piece is really his interpretation of his own writing.

I've been following this guy on and off for several years....I play some of his music.

I was 'introduced' to his music , oddly enough or funny enough'...through the weather channel , yrs ago.l At that time, I've investigated the artist, found out it was Lanz and been a avid lover of his music ever since. He is without doubt, ..................... --------- >  Incomparable!

I thank you for posting this. I had this cassette long,long ago, and had forgotten the artist's name. Then I heard this song on a "dateline" tv show last year, and have been searching for it ever since. Then today I heard it on satellite radio and finally got the name and artist.
