Only 3 copies are known of Future Blues and M and O Blues. There are no known copies of the other two singles..... Grandma Blues, Window Blues are two that are lost forever...
I have recordings from a laquer 78rpm from Crystal Springs Ms that I believe to be Willie Brown, Tommy Johnson, and Son House.
Son House came to visit two weeks before Browns death... My recording is 12-16-52. The song is called "Up Jumps Trouble
@luvthatzeppelin any chance of up loading it, have you checked out utube user "rustycropduster" he claims to have browns grandma blues "/watch?v=5F9xhKLJbXs"
@prometheus919 Yes, but I tend to believe that those recordings are from Hank Williams backup band. "Up Jumps Trouble" is one of those but it had more of a blues country sound.
The date is 12-16-52 in Crystal Springs Ms..... Who it is is a mystery...
@jmoneysin Its not Willie Brown. Its a mix between different pictures. It looks like Son House is in there in that face. Willie Brown is the most overrated Blues man in history. Son House was very Jealous on Charley Patton and said alot of bad things about Patton, like Mr Brown was a better guitar player. Its a dam Lie.
Brown did some nice things behind Patton. I never liked his solo perfomances. Its painfully listening compared to Patton plain Magic
Well Patton learned from the family that typified and established the American Pop standard (the Chapman's). He had an edge over many players of his day. Son House it seems may have had a bad experience with Charley Patton the ego and not Charley Patton the musician. That could explain his unkind statements.
I do think Patton is a better musician than Willie, but M&O Blues is incredible to me to this day and is comparable to House and Patton's work.
