  • @alebarderitobienpiol Hi there, I guess dbus and hald isn't enabled in the /etc/rc.conf file. In description you find this.

    4.vi /etc/rc.conf add this lines

    hald_enable="YES"

    dbus_enable="YES"

    edit the /etc/rc.conf file by adding the two lines above and reboot the machine. // best regards

  • I have bad experience with installing packages :|. But Compiling everything myself (Of course it took several days :D) works flawlessly.

  • @merkur32123 Great! and yes from this point of view i love the ports tree :-)

  • Hi, I try install KDE 4. On installation at the end of the keyboard and mouse do not work, I'm searching the net for something about it but so far not found the solution. You know what can be?

  • @granadian I guess the problem is here. In video description at point number four

    4.vi /etc/rc.conf add this lines

    hald_enable="YES"

    dbus_enable="YES"

    local_startup="${local_startup} /usr/local/kde4/etc/rc.d"

    kdm4_enable="YES"

    5. reboot or install optional vmware driver follow next step.

    Hald and dbus has to be enabled, (make sure to reboot after) to get the mouse and keyboard running in Xorg video server, cheers!

  • @Windows7ManiacGuy You can install this from DVD disc under /cdrom/packages/All there you run the command, pkg_add xorg and pkg_add kde4. Check out my tutorial in installing packages from DVD best regards and good week-end
