Where did you buy your bicycle engine at? I'm gonna get the shift kit from Sick Bike Parts, who sells the best 2 stroke 80cc engines? I dont wanna get stuck with a crappy engine rite out of the box.
Just wondering, but what bike are you using? I have been looking for that style of cruiser with the fender forever now, but knowing my luck I cant seem to find lol.
@alienboy366 - The guy riding the bike is going 2nd to 4th and such, if that's what you mean. He's just jumping around the gears. Nothing very precise. Just to show that it's just like riding a bicycle.
Oh sick! I know its a lot to ask, but could you consider doing video where you can see ur hands doing the action of up shifting and down shifting? I am getting a motor for Christmas and wanna buy this kit after haha
@doggerba Youre not going to regret buying the kit, just got mine installed and its awesome! not to mention the support youll get from this guys. Kudos to sick bike parts.
We just use standard bike chains, nothing special or expensive. Don't know why you are tearing them up. Have you tried to see where they are failing? Is it always where you are splicing the chain?
is there a way to change the gear on the pedals to a smaller gear? i want to get a kit like this but i dont want the engine ''geared down'' too much so i can get that back wheel spinning faster
@ihelk Go to our Sick Bike Parts web site and see all the different gear options. You can gear up for speed or gear down for goat hill climbing. You can change the shaft output gear and the driven and driving chainrings for ultimate top end.
40 mph effortlessly. 30-35 is just feeling like put-put. Hills are a breeze.
But acceleration is where it's at. wah-waht-wahht-wahhht - just tear through the gears....never timed from 0-30 mph, but leaves bolt on sprocket stockers in the dust.
The sickbikeparts site tells you what a shifter kit is, but basically it allows you to use the gears on your bike with an engine kit, as opposed to the lousy strap on to your spokes single gear that comes with the engine kits.
i have a question about it, do u need to use the clutch when changing gears and does the engine really sound like that or is it the video? sounds like the chain is bouncing alot
if u gnna ride tht thing on the road u better keep up with traffic lol i made a bike with a 40cc engine and it was a singel speed with 20 inch tires and i got it to go a lil over 60mph in about 20 secs

do you have to use the clutch when you shift?
chickenyoyo6 9 months ago
@chickenyoyo6 No - it's just like riding a bike when you shift. You can use the clutch to take off though. Like a MC, unlike a strap-on motored bike.
OilyPablo 9 months ago
can you use these on a 7 speed internal geared hub
donnieaccused 9 months ago
Yes, works with internal hubs as well.

So you just let off the gas, click for the next gear, then put the gas back on again?
doggerba 1 year ago
Yes exactly - and after 2-3 rides it's amazing how quickly you can do it with a grip shifter on the left and throttle on the right.
OilyPablo 1 year ago
Do you have to clutch in when you shift?
Thanks, Jim
doggerba 1 year ago
No, not necessary - just shift like riding a bicycle. Easy pie!

Jim's bike isn't really built for speed, he does about 40mph or so. Faster than that on a MB is really in skivy stain territory.

Clutch while shifting is not necessary.
I think the sound in the video is effected by the wind in the mike.
