You automatically arrive at the location you are travelling to at the same time you normally would when flying. I guess the rides go by time spent flying not distance travelled.

only you can seeyouself flying on the ground, while others do not know your there. you cannot see anyone because the wow interface thinks your still flying normaly yet the game is telling your computer that your stuck on run :/ because your still flying, your really far from goldshire and does not load characters and npc's there :O

There was a drink that made you fall slowly so that you didn't get hurt when falling, and it kindof made you float around. I think the mage has this spell. Anyways, if you drink it, then go on a gryphon, when the effect wears off your gryphon falls to the ground.

Also, if I was controlling it I woldn't be able to move my camera around while going forward, or chat while moving.
