This video doesnt even show justice to how close the game was with a backup quarterback starting his first game. and if it was for the blocked punt we would be 3 straight years on t.u. working for our 4th this year. I laugh when all the t-shirt fans of t.u. start running their mouth about A&M thinking we never had a national championship. Nore were they watching the television in the 80's and 90's. I don't like either team, but I can say that the only thing that stopped A&M from winning this game was that stupid swinging gate punt formation. It got blocked like three times.
@philyfoshily It amazes me how many college teams run that 7-3-1 punt formation instead of the usual deal with just 1 guy in the backfield besides the punter. Texas blocked punts from like 2001-2007 from pretty much everyone who used that.
Vince Young is the best QB ever. He really took down A&M in College Station. I knew UT was goin to have trouble against that 12th man crowd but VY must have ice in his vains cause he took over that game and the National Championship. Man A&M is never goin to win a National Championship

A great game, as I remember. I was pulling really hard for A&M because I was a Penn State fan hoping we could sneak into the Rose Bowl with a Texas loss. Still, I respect the Longhorns, who were outstanding that year.
