Can anyone tell me if it was him dat sang a song about prices increasing, like "everything got up up up, everything got up..."! I don't really remember the lyrics, but I looking for the song please!!! thx
The docu is made by Jools Holland, presenter and musician from the Uk back in 1983 if I don't mistake myself.
It's absolutely wicked with features from the Wailing Souls, Lee Perry, Dennis Brown, Black Uhuru. At the end Jools does a duet with the Wailing Souls in the streets, followed by a crowd who go crazy on this!
It's amazing that Jamaicans spoke so righteously about oppression of blacks and HYPOCRISY, and yet belittled albino people because they were different, putting them in homes even if there was nothing wrong with them (until something eventually GOES wrong with them).
It wasnt big in the US because our media/CIA was filling kids up with crack, and later gangster music. Drugs created in their labratories! Broke this country and spead a message of hate not unity. Things havent changed much where as the people here are still hooked on hate and filled with ego.
The documentary is called 'The Story of Jamaican Music' it was a 3 part (3hr) documentary in the UK but the german release which is this one was a much shorter version, only 2hrs i think, but it was also a different edit and i thin it contains some seens that the UK version did not and vice versa.
@malcstag Eek-A-Mouse, Yellowman, and Josey Wales are the three best DJs in the music industry. I could say that Bob Marley was a big influence to the music industry. He is the one that made reggae music what it is today. Because of Bob Marley we have reggae and dancehall music. R.I.P Bob Marley you will always be number one.
WHAT'S THE NAME OF THIS DOCUMENTARY FOR JAH'S SAKE PLEASE ANYBODY!!
