fuck this..i'd rather just t-pain it out and enjoy all watching all the dumb-ass average listeners think that's how it's supposed to sound. Give up the good fight people, we've lost.
Notice how the drumsounds all starting to sound really bad when he transposes the bass. It's still not magic, but it will change the way we use samples for sure!
That's to be expected since we're talking about a program trying to rip the guts of a combined sound stream to separate little bits, and the fact some sounds naturally share frequencies with other types of sounds.
That's why you are able to change formants, pitch drift, modulation and transitions. It takes a lot of work to get it right. I highly doubt they meant the program to be used in this fashion. It would be great for a producer to use it like this to get ideas for songs.
But i'm sure it was meant for mixing engineers to tune tracks when they don't have the option to re-record. If anyone serious wanted to change their song to this extent, they would just record again.
I don't think so... Look -> autotune... It's now overused and sometimes used to robotize vocals on purpose. As someone said, DNA will lead to new level of sampling and remixing.
That's because autotune is outdated and there is no other use for it anymore. I do think a lot of people with FL will someday download a cracked version of the new melodyne and flood the internet with their garbage remixes done from their lossy mp3's. If you were to do a legit remix with the permission of the person who owns the publishing, then just get the original tracks and do it right.
