  • I could watch this for hours <3

  • Isn't the Dublin accent wonderful! Love this clip. Where is the innocence gone?

  • The children are adorable, but the teacher seems really caring and sweet too... hope everyone is ok nowadays...

  • Out of the mouth of babes...

  • And he didn't know which way to go... so he went that way. hahaha

  • @jrm33lover well since she's from Dublin its "Tha' way"!! (most of my family is from Dublin and I don't mean to sound rude)

  • These are a riot! I can really appreciate these stories. I love how everybody says, "Yeah", and the looks on the king's face as the blind guy goes on, and on, and on............ Love the idea, and the imagination. Reminds me of the Ardman Studios stop-action video about the animals at the zoo, with kids doing the talking. "Sundays in New York" , I think. Won an Oscar.

  • WTF lol

  • nothing beats a shockin holy saint and the 'just' is promising. . .

  • "An 'e dinna know which way ta go... so he went dat way."

    Love it.

  • @FiverBeyond : Der's a river over d'er an it's made a wa'er

  • i like that jesus is black in this one even though i dont believe in any of that religion mumbo jumbo i stiil liked the cartoon.

  • Yes thats definitely what I used to think being brought up with these things, I have no sense and no friggin mental input into my own life now, I am the Y generation -.-

  • o an' this video deserves a big clap!

  • Wonderful ,realy enjoyed them ,did we realy talk like that? lol ...many thanks for posting them Monster

  • These videos are very funny. What the kids say, the animation. Fantastic. Still the whole indoctrination thing is a bit sad. And some of the stories really are ghastly. Poor old John the Baptist. What's a child to make of that, and the killing of the Innocents, and Christs horrible painful death on the cross which Catholic school children get reminded of every time they look at a wall.

  • It simply great...........

    first animation and effects.....

making serious stories (which children should know) presenting in very simple way that children and also adult can understand........

I believe it deserve big awards

    Great Job

  • plus the kids stories are so imaginative and the dublin accent really makes it more spectacular!! dublin sense of humours is great!

  • iv just been reading most of the comments here about this animated short and none of u idiots seem to know the difference between and english accent and an irish one. the voices where recorded in a school in dublin city centre in the 1960's the animation was done in late 2001 or 2002 by brown bag studios in dublin it had nothing to do with creature comforts which was made by aardman studios england two completely diferent types of animation by the way duh!!

  • Oh, this is too adorable. I wish they'd show more programs like this in television, instead of the stupd reality shows that are infesting our tvs.

  • and they sed "this is.... we better tell the hejuits

  • I love how the kids are interpreting the lessons they have learned. They are using thier own words which shows that they are absorbing the lessons and not just regurgitating. I'm not religious but I do see the lessons they have learned and I think these videos are great. Amazing memory these little ones have!

  • Theres a river over there and its made of water

    hahahahahaha love it!!

  • love it sooo cute omg!!

  • I find it so sad to read some of these comments. I guess it's true that nowadays people are to uptight about everything. Can no one just enjoy these videos for what they are? The lovely, innocent stories told by children. They're nostalgic! Why must people get so angry and insulted by something that wasn't meant to be brain-washing or overly religious. And people should stop spouting ignorant bull-shit on youtube! If you think you're a philosopher, do yourself a favor and write a fucking book!

  • The world could certainly use more of this today. Thank you for sharing this with us.

    Bless you

  • and and and and..and =)

    funny and cute.

  • DAMN that kid is irritating.

  • U really thought that??

  • These are marvellous little films - never seen them before in England. Isn't You Tube a wonderful thing!

They've picked up an idea from Creature Comforts and run with it - and I'm so glad they did.

  • This was done before Creature Comforts.

  • Are you sure? I thought Give Up Yer Aul Sins was 2001, and Creature Comforts was 1989. But I'm sure you'll correct me if I'm wrong.

  • Sorry your right, i don't know why but i thought this was older.

  • Probably because the voices were recorded in the 1960s.

  • its sad that people are getting so angry over cute little vids like these..but then again jesus said they hated me before they hated you...

  • you suck

  • Ohh, these are so cute!!!

  • I enjoyed these cartoons. They make me happy. I love the innocence and character animations. Don't want to offend anyone. I just thought the group that made it deserves some credit.

  • These are beautiful. I'd love to see the response of the children to watching these shorts now, 40 something years later. I'm touched by their insight and warmth.

  • What is with all the angry ill informed comments?

    1. It's not supposed to be funny, but endearing.

    2. It really has nothing to do with religion, but rather the kids take on it. Because you know what? Catholicism is an integral part of Irish culture. I'm an atheist and I acknowledge that & have no problem with it.

If you want to take your anger out on kids, for whatever reason, then you are just pathetic.

  • Couldn't have put it better meself.

  • I have no problems with the kids. It's the adults who do the indoctrinating.

  • Using a loose definition of brainwashing, I'd say yes. While growing up, adults have a large influence over a child's world view. The purpose of the stories is to convey the values of the society. These values are the basis by which the society functions. If the children left to figure out the rules for themselves it will lead to a lot of unnecessary grief on all sides. Thus "indoctrination" is unavoidable.

  • Is it ethical to teach religion to children? Shouldn't children be taught in a neutral manner and religion left for when they're reasoning adults? To answer the first question, it is necessary to talk about the second. Morality is fundamentally biased. When something is said to be wrong, that is making a clear statement about values. If I say theft is wrong, one would expect me not to steal. If I say parasites deserve to live, one would not be surprised to find out I'm a walking zoo.

  • The last example is a more graphic example of morality's inherent bias.

My professed belief in the right of parasites to life effects my interactions with others. I could be forced to take medication, or to be isolated from the general public because I pose a health risk. My values effect me and the people around me. How then can a teacher be expected to teach values in a neutral manner when the values themselves are not neutral?

  • It's impossible to not teach values. Simply requiring homework is a value. It is wrong to cheat on homework, or a test. It is right to come to class on time. These are values that children learn quickly.

Even the definition of on time is a value. In some cultures on time means within a couple of hours of the appointed time. In others, on time means 5 minutes early. This effects the importance that is placed on accurate time pieces.

  • This is what happens why you have a nice long comment written, youtube screws up the order and eats half the posts.

  • The angry comments make me sad. I understand where these people are coming from, especially seeing how religion (like anything else) gets abused. But it's still sad.

  • Well aren't you a fussy little guy? Come on, cheer up! Geez louise!

  • Probably the worst comment i have read on you tube.. even if you dont believe in god or religion, how can you blame the kids for regurgitating as you put it these stories to their teacher. What do you expect a 6 or 7 year old kid to say, "no im not telling you this story, i don't believe it happened and i think you are trying to brainwash me" think about it and you may realise it is you who is the little idiot.

  • Anger? Why would I be angry, Im not angry. Anger? Why would I be angry, Im not angry. A little confused as to why a supposedly mature 47-year-old man would blame the children for this.

Perhaps you are just one of these people who go on YouTube to post stupid comments in the hope of starting an argument.

I go back to my original point, Idiot..!

  • your either a troll or an idiot... you chose ^-^

  • Stuff it.

  • what a fucking idiot you are , so stupid its laughable , no its pathetic , I shouldnt laugh at an imbecile like you !!

  • aZeroGodist you call yourself a humanist...that's a laugh...an inhuman mind molester would be more apt . What you need is a good spanking!

These are excellent videos and the world need more of this type of positive input to counteract the empty rhetoric of your infantile postings.

  • This makes me so happy! Soo cute!

"Ask him. He's not a baby anymore; he knows who cured him!" XD

  • love this stuff

  • brilliant video.

  • This whole Atheist Vs Christians thing is really getting old fast...

Religion can be a beautiful and amazing thing, but athism can also be the same thing. Who gives a daisy if this person says black or this person says white - it's only worth arguing when they can't come forget the white and black and can't come together on the grey and build anew. It's an absolute waste, and I'm 19 and I realise that. You all seriously need a slap and cop on.

  • You realize that I have 666 in my name because the likes of you don't like it, right?

  • Right. Logic and reason are for the weak minded. The truly intelligent believe anything that's written down that says it's the truth.

  • Each time I see one of this clips my brain implodes. Not because of what is said, just because I am trying to figure out what the kids are saying. Some words are just to hard to guess.

It would be something nice to add some subtitles so everyone can understand.

  • wow...

  • Subjecting children to this sort of nonsense is wrong. Thankfully its only faith based schools that can get away with it these days otherwise teachers would find themselves in the courts quicksmart.

  • Macromeat, I hope that one day you will grow up and stop being a twat. I don't care if you believe or not, but leave those of us who do alone.

    ----------------

Lovely video, I showed these to my little cousins and they loved it. It's nice to see the Christian voice be heard, and what better voice than a kids.

  • Trojanponey - If I feel like it I have the right to say that there is no god and never was just like you have just as much right to say there is one. Even though deep down we all suspect thay there never was one.

  • Thanks for posting these.

Macromeat is just showing how brainwashed he is with liberal left anti Judeo-Christian claptrap.

I grew up and attended university in Ireland in the 50 and 60s and religions education gave us ethics, morality, a real understanding of the world and a system of belief which included respect for all of God's children. One only has to look at present day Ireland to know meathead is way off base and spouting the usual terrorist cliches.

  • Right, because Ireland isn't divided based on religious dispute. The Catholics and the Protestants just happen to be on opposing sides.

You mean the same morals about racism, slavery, and those Magdeline schools Ireland is infamous for?

  • Darleymead - I laugh at your comment, it had nothing to do with "liberal left anti Judeo-Christian claptrap" as you put it. I simply said that this is how religious indoctrination begins.

  • The sick thing is that there are still people like this in faith based schools teaching nonsense.

  • The river was made of water

  • great religious stories for the kids... great example for them to follow!!

  • Loving these videos.

  • Simply delightful! Thank you.

  • These videos r kinda cute ^.^

    And nice animating guys ;]

  • Another brilliant video! Charming, beautiful and brilliant!

  • Thanks for posting.

    Really nice designs & animation.

Nice animator's touch of construction lines on the girl's face. The cut back to her at 2:14 when stuck what to say was great.

  • Jettmanas, I was going to say the exact same thing, but I guess I don't have to, seeing as you already did ^_^.

And Monsterdistributes, I'm so excited to have watched these! Thanks for sharing! From the accents to the quirky style of the character designs, I really enjoyed this immensely.

  • yes...this is one of the miracle thing that Jesus do...

haha...the character and the voice actress are soo cute...it makes me laugh...

very good video...I hope you post more of the video about the new testament...

    Thanks

  • why? Their parents (or the school in which they are admited to) are teaching them what they beleive in. And besides when one moes of age you can choose your own path. You don't have to follow your teachings. Choose something else if you wish XD

  • How so? The children are in a school where they are learning about their faith and sharing what they learned. I'm quite impressed by them, actually. They remember a lot more than I think I did at that age (I'm guessing they're at about 3rd grade or below.)

  • Unfortunately I'm sure they all grew up fearing hell and judgment upon death for absolutey no reason at all. Hopefully they would have learnt enough about science so they grew with a real understanding of the world rather than the imaginary they'd obviously been taught. A child will believe anything its taught as you can see in these videos. So they really don't have a choice, it is brainwashing, this is how it starts.

  • Really? Then who brainwashed you?

  • So then, it's the idea that the children are taught about miracles that bothers you? I believe in science and I believe in miracles. It is true that 2000 years ago, the medical community did not have the knowledge to treat many disaeses and medical problems and we do a better job of that today. But there are times when someone is cured beyond what is medically "possible", then and now. . .(2nd part to follow)

  • part 2. . .(now if a miracle happens, doctors often scratch their heads and say "I don't know what happened", but won't acknowledge a miracle) that is a miracle. Whether a person believes in God or not, miracles happen. They don't happen every time you pray for them and sometimes they happen even if you don't pray for them or believe in them, but they happen all the same. That is faith.

  • A zombie is the reanimated dead, a brainless thing following the instructions of it's maker in voodoo mythology (there's an actual ceremony involving a living victim and brain damage inducing poison)and a brainless souless thing that eats other people's brains in sci-fi/horror movies. Jesus resurrected a few people from the dead during his ministry (a little girl and Lazarus). That is, he gave them their lives back, he did not reanimate a corpse. This was done in demonstration of who he was.
