  • Those numbers sound a little low to me. Must be a stingy dyno. The gain from the cam is pretty nice though, A 20% gain in HP is awesome. What did it do to your torque curve? How much higher was your peak?

  • @italiandude321, in 2005 you had the option of rwd or awd. And in 2006, they were all rwd 4L80e trans. The awd used the 4L60e.

  • it wtf how the hell are you running just tha back wheels on the dynos. i thought the ss's where awd

  • (1/2) im curious the transfercase bolts directly to the transmission on these trucks right? would there be any way of using this transfercase on a t56? me and my friend have a spare frame that fits are truck he used to get his new front suspension parts off and if we can find out about the transmission issue were going to start building a new tubular cross member that we can mount a rack and pinion on and figure out how to mount the front suspension off of a awd gm like the ss to.

  • (2/2) if we cant figure it out im going to swap out my 3 speed for my t56 and not try to make an awd manual swap on mine and sell the spare 71 frame

  • Does you dynatech y pipe have cats? i have a tahoe and these look like the best option. i dont really want to do cats but i dont want it to cackle and sound bad.

  • when i removed my front shaft on my 03 SS it only dynoed 330 but when i finally dynoed it on an AWD dyno it broke 400, its not stock but i dont have much done ither besides Long tubes, no cats, cold air intake, ingnition wires, copper plugs, and a sick tune so you might do better AWD

  • yea, wanna know da numbers. thinking of putting in same cam!

  • Numbers are posted at the end of the description. This truck went from 279hp and 300 torque to 336hp and 321 torque with just a simple cam change.

  • thanks, is the 279 the stock numbers, or with the little bolt on already

  • im sorry but this will sound stupid to the experienced car guys... you said it went from 279 hp and 300 tq to yada yada... i have a SSS and know its 345 hp and 380 tq stock. where did you get 279 and 300?

  • @texashawgss

Most people don't understand that normally the horsepower that is listed is at the crank. The LQ9 is rated at 345hp and 380tq at the crank........The 279hp and 300tq is at the wheels. The LQ9 is unrated; hot rod magazine dynoed a stock LQ9 with factory exhaust and tuning and turned 355hp at the crank.

  • thanks for explaining that... helped a lot

  • 336hp straight from the rear?

  • what were the numbers? do you like the dyna tech headers i have a silverado ss with a po flow xt intke and boltons with nitrous running 430hp on the dyno id like to hear what numbers you have i want to do a stall converter next no prob. with the tbss stall?

  • The Dynatech headers are a good install. You will most likely see around 12-18hp gain on a Silverado SS or a Trailblazer SS. We have not seen any problems with using the Trailblazer SS stall as of yet.

  • omg i miss that sound. :) i want that truck soooooo effin badly.

  • OK I must know what you guys did to get this AWD truck to just spin the rear tires. If you removed the gront drive shaft, how did the truck not code to shut power due to no front wheel speed? I have an AWD truck and that is what I am facing. Please share the knowledge.

  • Just removed the front shaft. You can't do it on all of the AWD trucks. Apparently the SS trucks have a different transfer case.

  • @MusclecarSpecialties I have a question for you...I have an 03 SSS and the motor has a slight rod knock in it...Granted that the engine is about to go, i want to have it rebuilt to where at least I'm gaining 410 hp at the wheels...What steps would you recommend that I take, besides heads, cam and intake modification???

I would also like to know if you're familiar with the Corsa exhaust??? If so which one would you recommend that I get? Touring or Performance? Thanks
