I've played shows and been on stage either before or after Larry, and the greatest complement I could ever recieve came from Larry himself. We sang one of his gospel songs in 3 part harmony, and he came back out of the dressing room and stood and listened to us. I thought we had offended him or "butchered" his song, but he listened and then came up on stage and complemented us. He is truly a gentleman and a great bluegrass artist.
He's so dignified and cool. The first time I saw him was over thirty years ago and he exuded cool even then in a 70's leisure suit. In fact he may have been wearing the only leisure suit I have ever seen in my life, that I liked.
