Yes, names are labels. That's the whole point of them. Be they screen names or real names. A name is a name is a name.
But at least with a screen name, you get to choose what that name will be. Which means YOU define yourself.

If anything, abandon that randomly chosen label your parents dumped on you before they even really know who you were - erroneously called a "real" name - in favour of your "tribal" name, defined by who YOU actually are and want to be in the tribe(s) you've chosen to be a part of.
