  • Hi rvspawn I have the same receiver the 1120 love it can u tell me what is those components under u receiver thanks nice set up I saw u others video

  • .@boricuastone Hi, they're the Monster Power Htps 7000 and Avs 2000.

  • I am ready to upgrade from my Denon to this specific model. I noticed that with my Denon it is slow when switching inputs, how is the response time on the pioneer? Also with my Denon alot of people complain about how Pandora and Internet Radio services only seem to play in 2.0 Have you noticed any sort of annoying bugs like this using your Pioneer?

  • @kdog21401 Response time Is fast switching between inputs, about two-three seconds. And no Issues when using Internet radio either.

  • does a 3d reciever give better 3d picture to?

  • @Bobbymustangrx8 No, It just allows the 3D signal to pass thru the receiver to your TV. ;)

  • I just ordered my new 65 mitsubishi tv..I want to hook it up and get my theatre room EXACTLY LIKE YOU..only problem is,, I HAVE NO CLUE WHERE TO START..i have x box, ps3, s sound system, but only a sony ,,any clues on where I start, the remote to the system you have...I would appreciate any help you could give me..so desperate would even be willing to pay someone to help me..? I have nobody that could help me set up to get where I want to be...Thanks.."desperate mom"..dawnyy55@yahoo.com

  • @DAWNYY55 Hi, I'm flattered you want to build your system like mine! I started just like you, just add things piece by piece, make sure you get real good cables, and a very good surge protector/filter for power. Power and Cables are very Important, and the foundation of your system. Good luck!

  • I see that you are using it as just a processor for your amp. What do you think of that set up?

  • @Cheeba118 I don't have any amps. Those are a Monster Voltage Stabilizer, and Monster Clean Power Center.

The Pioneer has plenty of power as a full fledged AV Receiver.

Watch my other video for a closer look. ;)

  • how can i get that on screen menu through my TV ..... I want to use HDMI's for the majority of my sources and tweak the sound but im not sure as to how i can get that home screen menu to come up..... I have the VSX 1120 k set up to a 55 inch samsung 3d TV.... can anyone help?

  • @chriskong2684 Just connect the HDMI out of the Pioneer to your samsung. You will see the on screen menu then you press menu on the remote.

  • @rvspawn Ive done what you said but for whatever reason nothing comes up in any of the sources.... this is driving me absolutely insane!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @chriskong2684 Can you see any sources thru your receiver? Like you run your blu-ray HDMI thru the 1120 to your TV thru HDMI? Try using component, or just a yellow composite cable to your tv just to see the menu and go from there.

  • I have the VSX 1120-k. Superior sound, but it has the Marvel Qdeo video chipset which is supposed to upconvert all sources of video to a highter quality. Mine does not upconvert even with the Video Parameters Upconvert to On.Have contacted Pioneer, they say it should work. Re set Dish Network reciever and Sony Bravia. Marvell wont return my calls. Is the Marvel chipset defective?

  • @koolarrowfive I thought the Up conversion was for 480i sources only to make them look better. All other resolutions just are scaled to which ever you want.

  • This receiver works as a regular receiver in 2D, and on a 2D TV also.

  • Is this only works on 3d tv and 3d bluray player?

  • @EastBayOutlaw - I have it setup just like you mentioned with an optical cable directly to the receiver. Pretty simple.

@ Rvspawn - I LOVE this receiver! Thanks for the vid! My movies sounds so much better. Funny since I used the Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen to initially test the surround sound out! Simply amazing!

  • Just bought mine today, a tad bit nervous & excited all at the same time! Hope it sounds good! Thanks for the mini review!

  • @makamalu Oh that's great! Your gonna love It! Enjoy setting It all up! ^_^

  • OK, so does this thing have HDMI pass through or not? And what exactly does that mean anyways? Does it mean that if I watch a DVD on my PS3, that I wont get audio to my TV unless I turn on the 1120? Please advise, thanks!

  • @EastBayOutlaw Correct, you won't get video or audio. You must have the receiver turned on, to pass HDMI signals thru.

  • @rvspawn Hmmm, that sucks. Well, my TV has 4 HDMI inputs, so I suppose I could send all the connections to my TV, and run a optical cable to the reciever. That is how I have my Onkyo hooked up now, and it allows me to get audio/video without always having to fire up the reciever. I was really hoping this type of reciever would have pass-thru to avoid this. What about the other comment that says that it does offer pass-thru with a setting?

  • @EastBayOutlaw Yeah I know It sucks which Is why I run my HDMI Into my TV and Digital audio out to the receiver. Yes there Is a pass-thru setting on the receiver. But It makes no sence because It's so you can have your TV speakers on at the same time as the receiver, when the receiver Is ON. So I keep It off.

  • Hey enjoyed the review.. Wondering if this receiver supports HDMI Pass-through when in stand-by mode. Can u verify if this is possible on this model..?

  • @FEDiFOLDA Hi, thx for watching! Sorry It doesn't pass HDMI thru In stand-by mode. You must have the receiver on.

  • @FEDiFOLDA _ YES it does..... read your manual, it is a setting.

  • Your very welcome! Glad I could help! Thanks!

  • Thanks a lot man!!!

And good luck on the HTguys deal!
