I am so sorry to see this because Whitney is one of my favorite singers of all time. :-( Her voice is just gone! She can no longer hit the higher notes, and her voice is no longer clear & crisp like it used to be...it is hoarse and raspy. To add to her problems, she has now been diagnosed with the beginnings of emphysema, which explains in part why she can't sing anymore. This is soooooo sad because it didn't have to end up this way, if only she had made the right decisions in her life. :-(

I stunned by how dead the fan boards are at Whitney Houston's sites. Since the beginning of her career (even in the Being Bobby Brown era and 2003-04 when she still had some fairly recent hits/albums/performances) never has it seemed so dead. It's like I could see a Whitney Houston witch this Halloween perhaps! It's like almost as if Whitney Houston never happened and is becoming just a footnote in the history of entertainment! Yes, the tour was a PR disaster but Whit laughed ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK. Mariah, by comparison, FLOPPED on her theater tour.

I wish Whitney the best and good health but I am still not convinced that the drugs are absolete from her life because of her demeanor and behavior on this show and the NAACP awards...girlfriend was acting pretty bizarre like she was on something. I have counseled people in the same situation and have family members/friends that have overcome their drug addiction, or is trying to manage their addiction. Its a tough road.

She sounds horrible, to be frank. Her background singers and the audience were more or less carrying her. She wasn't as much singing as half talking and any type of range she had was limited. You can't blame that on speaking during an interview -- her voice is shot.

She's gone from legend to myth. I'm catching a lot of her "live"
songs on YouTube -- some "full" concerts (band, backup vocals,,
etc) as well as live-to-track ones -- and her voice is just gone.
Also, her studio stuff from the last couple of albums is crap.
I play all of her "Preacher's Wife" and earlier stuff. Her spirit is
as "there" as ever... sadly, the voice is gone. However, I will

I do speak Portuguese, it's actually the language I learned when I was a child/teenager, before I move to New York 10 years ago.

Esse show nao foi um grande show, foi apenas uma aparicao em publico para promover algo de que ela esta' fazendo parte, um programa de TV ou algo assim. A qualidade do som na minha filmadora foi tambem afetada porque e' em espaco aberto, com muito barulho das pessoas. La' no Central Park, onde filmei, a voz dela soava bem melhor do que eu filmei.

I wish Whitney the best and good health but I am still not convinced that the drugs are absolete from her life because of her demeanor and behavior on this show and the NAACP awards...girlfriend was acting pretty bizarre like she was on something. I have counseled people in the same situation and have family members/friends that have overcome their drug addiction, or is trying to manage their addiction. Its a tough road.

Whitney's voice clearly is hoarse from all the work off her comeback. Remember on campaign trails, candidtates also loose their voices from exhaustion and over use. As a woman whom makes her living as a singer and actor is is understandable for the voice to give out even if the body has not. So, Whiteny, gets some rest and quail these fears of others. But remember your reputation lies only in your hands. Others holding your rep keeps them in power over you. Your rep is in your control;)

Several years ago on Arsenio she explained the difference between a hoarse talking voice and a hoarse singing voice. They are NOT the same.
She doesn't even sound like her old self on the new song I heard on the radio. Sadly, her voice just isn't what it used to be.

She sounds horrible, to be frank. Her background singers and the audience were more or less carrying her. She wasn't as much singing as half talking and any type of range she had was limited. You can't blame that on speaking during an interview -- her voice is shot.
