@LANxPARTYxPHIL direct x 9 looks a litle fake on dirt 2 but with direct x 11 it looks more realistic due to better colloring and unshininess like grafix used to be back in the xbox 1 days. back in the day shiny grafix meant good grafix now its not, its what ever looks more realistic

I'm going to straightaway guess that you probably have a dual core machine. A little advice: NEVER RECORD 1080P VIDEOS ON IT. Dual core processors aren't strong enough to render Full HD videos in realtime. 720p is okay, but 1080p is a definite no-no. Get a quad-core processor before you even try recording anything in 1080p.

BTW, that is not DX11. It's actually DX10 mode.

Since there is currently no Video card in the market DX11 compatible out. So even is Windows7 has DX11, your games will still run in DX9-10 only.

I see pretty much the diffrence.

Of course, it's just an eye-candy. But in reality because dirt 2 is dx11 optimized game, it runs just as, or slower then with dx11. And vice-versa. A dx9 optimized game would run just as or slower then with dx11.

But because noone is optimizing the game for dx9 and just "adding" the dx11 support, is dx11 the way to go.

Seriously a free eye-candy. And especially this good? Go for it.

i have ATI MSI HD 3870 OC edition (btw, it is one of the first hd 3870 ans it is somekind special, it runs games beter then any other hd3870 oc edition gpus, and as i know there are just few card like mine, and some of my friend sed there is like 2 of those from msi in world :P , i can overclock it higher then other hd3870 gpus :P ) and i buyed it as soon as it was out in stores, and now it is as old as my grandmother. im hapy that i have it! it runs new games on very nice and smooth FPS

very true. it's just a shame nvidia stamped their feet years ago with microsoft were working on the dx10 api. DX11 is what DX10 was supposed to be. ATI had the working technology, 10.1 re-instated some of that, but not alot. - that would be why we were all stuck with shitty dx10 for so long!

this game is made on dx9 and dx11, if you will go to C:\Program Files\Codemasters\DiRT2 you can find dx9 and dx11 folders, so it meens no dx 10 suport, only dx9 and dx11. oh one last thing, nvidia DONT have any GPU's that suport dx11 yet... but soon nvidia will finish fixing bugs on "fermi" and nviadia will have most advanced technology GPU in the world!!!
