  • This man is a true artist..i'm a metalhead but the music is very nice.

  • Wonderful! I always loved to listen to Embryo and its outrageous world music.

  • bravo mister roman, c'est bien joué; bonne chance.

  • Roman Bunka is a true master on the oud; I can understand why he put away his guitar for it (though it is a pity; he was one of my favorite guitar players; some of the very best guitar solos I know were by him)

  • I love his playing on the oud, but in the 70s/80s I travelled long distances to see him on (e-)guitar, and it always was worth it. One of my favourite players. If you have any (live) recording of Embryo playing with Bunka ...

  • I saw the movie "Dein Kopf ist ein schlafendes Auto" by Werner Penzel, which was a feature about his band (consisting of Roman Bunka - guitar and oud, Freddy Setz - drums, percussion and keyboards, Gerald Luciano Hartwig - bass and sitar). The movie itself was only so-so, but the music was simply fantastic. So fantastic indeed that at first I was disappointed by their album, although it is one of my favorites today.

  • Yeah, they played "Road to Asia" in this movie in a version that was by far better than the original. When the LP came out in about 1980, it wasn't on it, and when I read the CD will be released with bonus tracks, I made a jump, but it wasn't even on the CD. Perhaps it will be released on "The Complete Electric Roman Bunka Sessions" on 10 CDs ... (may I dream?)

  • Aera Live from 1980 will also be worth buying - Besetzung: Klaus Kreuzeder - ss., Roman Bunka - e-g., Locko Richter - b., Freddy Setz- dr., keyb., Helmut Meier-Limberg - perc., Lutz Oldemeier - dr.; 7 songs, on two they stretch out

  • Yes, I know that album. Fantastic playing by Roman again, especially the guitar solo in "Lost Scooters" with the echo effect.

  • NIce oud.. who made it?

  • NICE : )

  • The amazing thing and what i really like about Roman Bunka is the idea of how a europian man from a very different culture be able to have such a sense and net eastern feelings playing the Oud like that ..I really like you . you are a true and different musician . No doubt you are different..i hope i can find all your pieces .Not only those with the king Mounir who is really a true and different artist same as you....

  • Bunka is the son of a German diplomat and grew up in Beirut. That may have helped :-)

  • nice oud

  • the true master
