Most important shit he said was at the end of the vid in the last 30sec. He didn't take all the glam and fame seriously... guess that's why he's the GOAT
I was on J Dilla and the SV since Summer 2000 and I am grateful for stepping outside the box and decided to purchase the album when it was on the floor behind the counter of a CD store Mall in Jacksonville, FL.The album cover of Fantastic Vol.2 drew me into picking up this material.. Then I found out J Dilla produce mulitiple records for many people and Groups.J Dilla was the outlook of pure hip-hop soul for me that summer. Miss you J Dilla. RAZ-PRO thank you for being inspired bro I am hooked.
Dilla was so ahead of his...you can listen to a Dilla beat from '95 & it sounds new. people slept on J when he was alive, but now you got a lot of aspiring producers & even legendary producers looking at his music for inspiration. R.I.P. James Yancey
i miss u so much man, its hard watchin this. bout to go play a dilla track rite now. and remember to listen to a dilla track on feb 10th and a nujabes track on feb 26th
7:57 , what is the song he is talking about for de la soul? I looked for genius of love but I cant find anything. Anyone know if it was ever released?
@EntaDetroit There is still so much for you to discover, like there is a lot that still hasn't been released, In order to keep the torch high and burning.

I know Dilla thought he was being clever having other producers compiled on his album but the reason he gives for it is plain stupid. What kind of logic were you working with man?..."I know you think I'm going to make all the beats, so just for that, I'm not going to do any...."??? As a fan anticipating an artist's project, i want to hear or see what that artist is known for. I'm glad they shelved his shit. Didn't even produce what was asked of him. M.C.A. checkmate. R.I.P.
aah here it is! How could I have missed this for so long, the complete interview...!
But why does Stones Throw claims it released the full lenght interview on the StonesThrow 102 DVD, while there's only about 9 minutes off this interview on it..?
