iv got an sks and switched it out with the tapco stock but cant figure out hhow to switch out the stock wood on the gas chamber so i can put my picketany on it for my red dot, got any tips?
hey i got a few questions, im looking into buying an sks but there hard to find with what i want. so i was going to get a very cheap wooden stock one and basically do as you did. but is there any specific sks model i should use/not use and what not. basically asking for any details regarding this i SHOULD know before i attempt this.
@1954malberts LOL!!! Why your got to hate on my rooster? Out of all the comments I've gotten on this video your the first person to make a joke about the rooster!
Hey Brother, did you ever do a video shooting your SKS mod? If not have you shot it? If so how did the red dot perform? I am working on mine as I type this and wondering how the red dot would work out on the stock like that vs. more troward the receiver....thanks
Awesome, you took a beautiful gun, got rid of all its classy wood and slapped on your shit plastic. Now you can be super tactical for all those operations you do. Faggot.
Are you able to see through that red dot? It looks to me like it is too far toward the front of the rifle. I'm not very family with the SKS or red dots, this was just an observation.
@pred123424 what's with people saying the sks has alot of kick - have you been only shooting .22 and 9mm before trying this? It has low recoil... try a mosin negant or a 3" slug for that matter. I shot a .50BMG sniper rifle... now that has kick - raises the dirt off the ground in a radius of 10feet
i went to my friends house and we fired his sks out of the sliding door on his deck, it worked like a dream and just felt smooth. I really wanna get one now
That is the stock, grip and Bipod I'm about to buy, thank you so much for making the video so I can see what it looks like. I'm also adding a muzzle break and Rubber pad on the butt, but I can tell the gun is going to look sharp.
it looks pretty sweet with the new stock but i think i would keep the old one its pretty like that then again i havent shot an sks at all so i dont know which would be better in terms of shooting but in looks the old stock was prettier
@thedoubledeus The sks has some kick to it thats for sure. As far as the stocks go i never shot it with the old stock on it. I also think the old stock looked a lot better on this rifle as well. But like iv told other people i didnt want to mess up the old stock at all. So i took it off and put it in my gun safe. Now that i dont have the sks anymore i look at this video and feel so bummed out because i have a beautiful rifle and i sold it.....
i prefer the sks 59/66 i modified with a tapco t6 stock with bayonet cut dark earth and put a tapco muzzle brake into it with 25 ports and i don't recommend anybody to put any detachable magazines because i buy 2 30 rounds magazines for it and they got the rifle into fail too much times so i put i t the factory box magazine box and the problem was resolved
I think the bi-pod is a bit too much, I like things simple and light personally. However I do wish I had a synthetic stock for mine (also a Russian one). Your parts need a bit of cleaning, some dirt in there and some buffing to do.
i, from personally owning one, would actually recommend the yugoslavian sks. it has the same bayonet but it has the suppressor/grenade launcher witch makes the barrel longer and it has the gas cutoff so you can make it single shot or semi auto..just my personal opinion and i feel it makes it more accurate. (=
hey bro, i got a Chinese sks that will be outfitted with a tapco intrafuse stock. i completely forgot to get the one with a lower rail. my question is, did you add that lower rail? or did yu get tge stock with the lower rail attached.
@casual702 Yes the stock that I got already had the lower rail on it. If u just plan on putting a bipod there I can send u a link to that bipod I have in this video.
@casual702 As for as I know (I have the one to be able to keep the blade on) you need to get the right stock for what you want, however, I don't think it would be that hard to install a picatinny rail after the fact
@casual702 Before I got my T6 with the rail my dad and I rigged mine. I took an old picatinny I had and we took another folding stock and screwed it in with some rubber cement and what not.
I think the original looks nice, I bought a mosin and I plan on buying an sks once i get the money for it. I love my mosin and can't wait to get a semi auto rifle. I think the modification looks nice on it
I think the original looks nice, I bought a mosin and I plan on buying an sks once i get the money for it. I love my mosin and can't wait to get a semi auto rifle. I think the modification looks nice on it and I would like to do that to mine once I get it but around how much did it cost?
@2THROWED4HOZ I have not. But I will say that the Russian sks was the first Sks and also that's what everyone is looking for. I don't think u will find a Sks as beautiful as a Russian Sks anyways. But all in all there all sks's and I'm sure they will all shoot when u pull the trigger
@pred123424 wow you made your sks looks damn sexy......... can you send me the websites you got your accesories from and where to change the look to a black color..... THANKS... SKS are the shit.
I just put a Tapco stock on my Russian SKS. I like it just fine, that's all that matters.
The original laminated wood stock on it looked pretty bad. You can save around $40 if you utilize the bayonet as a monopod...just stick it a little ways in the ground, works fine in soil, but obviously not concrete. I'd recommend the Tapco stock system, but to each their own.
@jewbadger I did that to the rifle because i intended to shoot my rifle. I really didnt want to mess up the beautiful wood stock so i slapped on the tapco stock. I dont own the sks any more anyways.....i traded it for an ar-15 then sold that to get a colt 1911 lol. But really....i wish i had that beautiful rifle back.
i have a yugo sks i got at a pawn shop. already had a fiber force stock on it and a ncstar 4x30 scope on it. i love the gun. i paid 325 for it. i was thinking of getting another one and building one kinda like this one. Is that stock ligher then the wood stock? and do you know where i could get a bolt with the cocking handle on the other side of the gun? if they even make anything like that. any help would be greatful. by the way. sweet ass gun man
@NMSteven I have the exact same stock that pred123424 has, just installed it yesterday. There's a huge difference in the weight! I went to the range today and put 200 rounds through her and the way it felt was heaven on earth. I highly recommend a forward pistol grip, which made it even more comfortable in my long arms. After 60 rounds, my arms would get tired with the wood stock. Now I can fire the gun one handed all day!
Hey good job bro looks good i have two of these rifles and i moded both mine! A+ Guns For the money and i paid 350 for my yugo and just seen one at the gun store for 299 thinking about pickin it up lol
Hey Dude if you could please tell me the name of the by-pod and where did you get it please, I have the same gun and I just installed the tapco sks as well. Thanks
@pred123424 That gun is totally awesome though I'd have to say I liked the way it looked alot better before, that darker wood is beautiful. So how much was it originally and what's the difference in weight once you modified it??
Hey, nice video. I like what you did to the SKS. What is the name of the song that's playing when you're showing the modified version? It's such a familar tune -- I know I've heard it before -- but I just can't remember from where.
@561sage They charged me like 40$. But taking the stock off and on is easy, the only reason i took it to the shop is because the wood that covers the gas tube needs to have 2 metal bars punched out and i dont have the tools to do that.
@L0udP1p35 in the pistol grip there is a little compartment that you can put things in. My gun didnt come with the cleaning kit but i would bet it would fix in there just fine.
@JohnFromSpace yea i know lol. Let me ask you, do u like it the way it looks now or the was it looked before? I miss the old stock alot but its all good. if i want to put it back on i can.
