What amazes me is the colors...they are exaggerated, in a good way, which in turn brings out the "toy effect" with tilt shifting.

Canon USA has a listing of tilt-shift lenses if you go to there lens section. It is at the bottom of the lens listing.

You may want to look up tilt shift in Wikipedia and click on all the links there. Very interesting.

Another technique for photos is using Photo-shop which has this ability. Pure diehards wont use it or perhaps to just touch up

ok so dont get me wrong because i love this video, but your trying to tell me that you conveniently werer able to record a man fishing in the bay..watch him fall in the water..then drive to the rescue place and get a camera angle from the top of the warehouse that housed the helicopter....record them pushing it outside and then take off and then drove back in time to record the helicopter pick the guy up out of the water? and then go back to filming the pier?

This is keith loutit and he basically has a tilt and shift lense that he uses. It is then turned into a time lapse. a tilt and shift lense changes the perspective by focusing on certain things, making others seeming distant, or miniature. This effect can also be done after words, in programs like after effects and photoshop.

You blur the top and bottom of the photo/video to make it seem small and he sped it up a bit to make it look toylike.
