yah I've been wondering about that too. Watching it numerous times doesn't seem to point out the reasons anymore then the first time watching this movie. I just kind of figured that he felt sympathatic towards the centipede's death or whatever, almost like he worships the effects it produces. Just like indiginous people towards peyote. what are your thoughts?
Burroughs hates centipedes more than anything. Also, he writes about being overcome with grief out of nowhere and figures it is a sign that something bad is about to happen. He was very much into ESP and things of that nature.
i think that scene means that he feels guilty about killing his wife

I never understood why he freaks out when hes at the marketplace and he sees the bowl of centipede legs..... anyone else have any ideas?
