  • Dam prankers should know better !!

  • @TheJaiEffect Thanks for uploading, can I ask that plasma screen television at the start of the video showing a map of the incident location is that thing standard equipment at fire stations across Melbourne? I remember growing up with Fireman Sam (the original) tv show and all the fire fighters had was a old printing machine which spit paper print outs detailing the incident in each episode of the show. Keep up the good work boys.

  • so much for interagency support.... @5.47... not gonna get much sense out of her..?????

Expected a bit better from the MFB.

  • LOL at 4:36 "It's a bit of a challenge... 2 P platers and they're trying to think!"

The turnout was out of the temporary station near the detention centre, while the new one was being built.

Nice vid, thanks for posting. False alarms suck, but part of life for all us fireys.

    Cheers. Stay safe.

  • Pretty sure its been answered but yes, that is an LTS locktronic siren with the dual tone.

  • what kind is the fire truck in the back i like it

  • @ty74n

Freightliner FL80. Unpopular and unreliable piece of rubbish.

  • Great video......love the voice over from VKN8

  • @pumper29

I liked it better when *real* did the turnout/move-up voice overs! :P

  • They responded to a "washaway" result of a car accident.- turned out to be a hoax call. Siren is Locktronics LTS with the tone set onto mix.

  • how many hoazs do you respond to. its a sham because its a waste of your talent.

  • what were you responding to?

  • good work boys

  • an what kinda siren is that..............

  • Sorry, I'm not sure

  • @Fireman203 The siren is an LTS also known as locktronic exclusive to victoria, it was actually made by an ambo and a firey in the 80's i believe

  • @salsalsalme

Close mate. It was developed by Sergeant Roy Lock of the Victoria Police Traffic Operations Group (now Highway Patrol) in the mid 1970s and started to be heard on fire trucks, ambulances and police cars from about 1978 onwards.

  • @TheJaiEffect That's LTS I think. Formerly known as Loctronic. Homegrown in Australia I believe.

  • locktronic

  • @TheFireman203

LTS siren. I'm very surprised TheJailEffect didn't know that as it's been a home grown sound of MFB appliances since 1979.

  • It was their temporary station while the original was rebuilt. They're back now in the new station on Droop Street.

  • Hope you post a video of a turnout from the new station.

    Is the gate fixed yet?

  • What with siren pause for a sec every now and then?

and normal video speed too please.

  • Yeah, I noticed it when FS47 first received this Mk5. Seems to be the only one which has the pause in the 'yelp'.

Also, to gracebeliever. The original station was in Droop Street and they relocated to the warehouse as the old station was being rebuilt, but there are a few issues with that so the move back has been delayed.

  • Bigger issues is Croydon Fire Station about having it built right next to main intersection of Dorset and Mt Dandenong rd due to reason it's unsafe to use when exit out the station on callout.

I heard the pause yelp in the city aswell sounds stupid lol

  • could be a fault with the system, some of the trucks do have minor speaker faults, usually been fixed now.

  • god bless you. protecting your area making it safer. u are a hero to me, and i subscibed cuz of that. keep up the amazing work.

    -David

  • Thank you very much

  • fantastic video....more please!!!!

  • I must say that I agree about posting the video at proper speed, as this video has been enlightening to me, a "US American", who is marking all of the Melbourne fire stations in GOOGLE EARTH. I now know, thanks to the video, that station 47 is not on Droop St, it actually is on Hampstead Rd in some sort of warehouse facility. Don't slow the video down. It is a valuable tool for us folks who may never get there. Keep up the good work.

  • Hey mate awesome vid. It's good to see some vids of the MFB. I hope you can post more like this one. Im a firie with the CFA and hope someday to maybe go into the MFB which would be cool. Anyway, thanks for posting and please please post more. Cheers mate, stay safe boys.

  • Nice vid mate. Hope you guys move back to Droop Street soon.

Check out mine if you like.

  • hey i love it!! it's great to see the entire turnout from alarm to arrival!

  • That was pretty cool. I like the fast forwarding, it made the fire truck look like it was a V8.

  • Try it and see, I enjoy watching the idiots not even attempting to move. This video explains all your traffic problems. I would like it at normal speed..

  • okay i sure will

  • Even with the fast forwarding, it's not too bad. I suggest showing the whole video at normal speed, even if you have to use a part 2. I can't believe the traffic problems you must have on a daily basis. Buy an American Q siren and a few air horns...the cars ahead of you will move fast..

  • yes, but if i put the whole thing on with no fast motion, the video takes too long and it will probably get boring
