  • i want holo porn

  • screw health care lets fund this!!!!

  • Just one Question. Would my own optical visual 'eyeballs' refresh rate need to be the same as the camera used here to see this hologram?

  • its fake.....its just a 3d image put into a video it shakes when the camera moves

  • Instead of running man, I think, the following message would have made this hologram-video top-famous on the Tube, am I right?

Pr. Leia. "Help me Obi Wan Kanobi, You're my only hope! "

  • @nna7yk Yes! I was waiting for that. LOL.

  • I CAN SEE STEVE JOBS RUNNING...O-O ITS A GHOST MACHINE!!!!

  • so you cant touch the holograms like on the cartoons? oh well.. sorry trolls :|

  • Dear santa...

  • daaaaammmn I want it.

  • so you can make a hologram but dont know how to hook up a microphone. DOMB!

  • @nbkoziar88

    DOMB!

  • @nbkoziar88 for all you know the sound of the motor running spinning the mirror could be loud and/or annoying, so he muted it.

  • "FUTURE" (squidward voice)

  • nice

  • Mr nader i told you they had already made one

  • If only call of duty ran at 5000 frames per second

  • Looks like an office toy, I want one. Very clever idea though.

  • It's very cool

  • very nice, although this could be fake i dont think it is. but i wannna see a real hologram that uses nothing but light like u see in movies imo thats a true hologram

  • Looks dangerous spinning that fast. I sliced my fingers on a regular plastic fan . This would probably break your hand if your hand some how manages to collide with it.

  • Oh I know how it works :P

  • looks like it is real.

  • while cool, not quit a holodeck

  • next stop, DUEL DISCS!

  • @bluetseel It's time to d-d-d-d, ddddddduel!

  • dooooooooood.............

  • On the future porn, fuck I tryed to put my dick in her pussy and I coundt and now I got lot of blood... it hit me xD

  • lol super lol sony hologram is best is beast

  • i bet it hurts touch the mirror when its spinning...

  • @ShayTheMon It would probably break and pierce you with its fragments.

  • so when is this gonna start being the new form of communication >_<

  • its not fake

  • homogram

  • Can you actually interact with it

  • @Nathanhi89 yes! just about as good as with a jet engine. powerful force feedback :D

  • How much you wanna bet the government has had that for years.

  • @MrAchronos for what? scared the enemy with blue lined ghost?

  • @NinjaMotion No probably for showing the layout of a buildings inside or maybe what a person looks like . Nothing crazy just for showing images to an entry team so they can be better prepared. I don't think it could be used as a weapon.

  • "I'm a Doctor, not an HDTV..."

  • Now we just need to do this without the dangerous spinning mirror :P

  • i guess i got the point, there, are several projectors wich shoot the richt image at the richt angle from top to botthem,a mirror in a slanting position spins so fast that it not only reflects the images to the richt position, but it just happens so fast that you do,nt notice spinning from the mirror, but instead you will percieve the image as if it is in front of you,but then again do,nt try tough it cuzz you will lose your vingers hahaha lol.

  • what is thy bidding my master

  • Impressive!!!!!!!

  • they need to put this shit on a kids ben 10 omnitrix!!!that would be awesome, expensive, but awesome.

  • i wana toch it lol =P

  • First you will have to buy black and white holograms... Then color will come out!

  • Improbable for a 3D game, this goes to the museums for the epic displays generated

  • asdfghjkl;

  • What the hell is thi- OMG IT SPINS!!!!!

  • please take all of my money

  • ahaah! next step: Moving objects. now THATS a challenge... xD

  • @Thepoliticman RC cars. next challenge please

  • @Thepoliticman did you watch this to the end?

  • cool, but not a real hologram.

  • @allin1readerwriter Please, for the rest of us here, what is your definition of a hologram?

  • @Nexxion what I meant was it is not the ideal hologram from scifi. this projects light onto a solid medium, and its size is limited by how big the device is.

  • @allin1readerwriter Gotcha. Well, it is technically a hologram even if it's projected surface is solid. If you're interested in a spacial projection hologram, you should check out io2technology's "heliodisplays".

  • why is this not everywhere. now.

  • @benpename Why aren't you everywhere?

  • it thats real watching movies will be awesome, like you were in the movie. Now Imagine that! ;D

  • Comment removed

  • Damnn imagine this combined with Microsoft Kinect, think of the possibilities that could unfold... the future is upon us :D

  • @DarknessM9 damn porn is gunna be fucking extreme!!!

  • looks kinda dangerous wouldn't wanna touch that bad boy

  • WTF thats got to be fake!, if its real that shit is pretty sweet

  • Ok.. This is a few years old now.... When can I have one??

  • @FirestoneX well..; you can make one if you had a mirror strapped to a realy fast moter

  • wow!

  • holographic technology is REAL and is being used to fake an alien invasion.

    ---

look up Project Bluebeam. This shits REAL !!

  • @bmw200000 I dont know about that maybe fake a rature or chris return, but i would like to see a fake alien invasion, I would be laughin while everyones running!!

  • gotta be quite noisy...

  • lol pornogram

  • @blackpunkemo UUUU GENIUS :)

  • This video might as well be in Japanese I dun get it :(

  • This is great. It was done in 2007 though. I hope it is developed for future home use. I could even see it working on a portable device (although it would be a cube shape, and not the usual candybar/tablet we are use to).

  • so that's not real, right? you, used computer, right? right?

  • this is unbelievable for a noob like me

  • We can cleary see the holo-head bouncing when the camera is moving. That's typical of a artificial effect.

But, some lights mess up camera, like laser. And we can see the reflect of the head on the glass.

    So, fake or not ?

  • @Momo5775 It's real, the distortions are because of the camera's shutter speed (refresh rate?) and the shape of the mirror spinning if you view it at it's corners there is some distortion... it's tough to explain just take my word for it.

  • @Momo5775 i saw it life at VFX (european siggraph) in Stuttgart 2008...with this T-Fighter thing. It´s real.

  • @Momo5775 i saw it live at VFX (european siggraph) in Stuttgart 2008...with this T-Fighter thing. It´s real.

  • @markuon your moms fake.

  • The problem is its not cost effective to make

  • Whoops! Looks like 10 people accidentally hit the dislike button.

  • WOW! Better than that crappy holography,

cuz' this is actually getting somewhere..

But, i find it really disturbing that it needs

to correlate your position. That's louzy.

  • Goddamn great IDEA!!

  • Nice. If you put this device in a vacuum, it should be very silent.

  • OMG~~~~ !!! the futher we imaged getting closer!!

  • my god that is amazing.

  • funny how it all keeps coming back to the praxinoscope. I wonder if you could get reflective static particles in a vaccuum to do the same job as the mirror, each one a pixel, with LEDs to project onto them.. like a depth verion of Texas Instruments DLP technology. Trade size of the projection space and picture quality for infinite resolution of projecting off of glass. Then to work on software and a processor to render the 3D volume at 120hz+.. @.@

  • Absolutely stunning. I'm clear on most of it save the end with the running man. Is he running live? like in another corner of the room with a camera on him, because it can't be a 2d film recording, right? And I still don't understand why the image isn't in color, though you get a blue image of that head. How far we've come since Ed Muybridge's running men and horses! Kudos to you all.

  • @UHYVE - Or any of the sequences of darth talking to sidious! But they have a tie fighter so I'm ok with it.

  • This seems awesome and interesting, but I have a few obvious questions like.

1.Can multiple people see it correctly.

2.What is the mirror thing and where did it go? Some type of illusion to it being missing or what? I don't quite understand this.

3.Does it display in actual 3D, if the display was in front of you, meaning your hand could move through it maybe? Or is it just some video type thing to show us, and not actually as good as it seems?

  • @Superbike2008 You've got it all wrong. What the device is is a screen that lays ~45 degrees in a vertical plane, and it spins at a high rate of speed, changing what image it's showing constantly to give the illusion of 3D. So if you look at it from the front, it shows the image as it would be if you were facing the front of it. Now, if you walk around to the back, it's displaying the image you would see if standing behind it. It just changes perfectly in sync with the rotation of the machine.

  • @Superbike2008 Dude, the mirror is spinning really fast, and you could touch it with pain being a consequence. And i'm assuming that multiple people standing around it could all see the different angles relevant to where they're standing

  • perfect, brilliant!!!

  • And I bet these people call themselves nerds. They didn't even recreate the "Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope" scene from Star Wars. Disgraceful...

  • they are working on it man, they threw in some tie-fighters though, give them some credit. they ARE nerds

  • be nice for fighters hud

  • wow

  • first post

  • Whoas.

  • wow, that is very cool!!

When is going to be on sale..?after 5-10 years..??

  • amazing work.

  • Ja das wäre echtes 3D. Das andere ist ja nur Stereobild. Wobei das für den Anfang erstmal ganz gut wäre. Denn wie soll man den bitte etwas Filmen was dann völlig in 3D dargestellt werden soll?

  • hologram???

  • That Blew my Mind!

  • Second!

  • First!

  • Cool!

  • awesome! o.o

  • amazing, this is a holographic image to a certain extent. Obviously its not a true hologram, the image can only be projected on the spinning mirror, but this gets us 1 step closer!

Really well done! I would love more information and your ideas for the future. PM me

  • amazing

  • Cool !

  • neat.

  • Parece totalmente sacado de un comic de ciencia ficción. Muy impresionante que pueda hasta representar imagenes reales en movimiento, ahora solo falta que se pueda reproducir a tiempo real!

  • Coolt, utveckla tekniken mer!! Jag vill ha den i min vardag!

  • cool

  • really cool it's reality now and not just in the movies =)

  • Nice job :)

  • FAKE! The head would be hollow giving you the ability to see the postirior side.
