Are you sure that the birds are seeing the cat, or are they seeing their own reflection? The way they are acting, they might be seeing their own reflections in the glass... The cat's just enjoying the feathered show... Oh, wait, is there screens on all the glass, or just some of it? Hmmm
The left half is just glass, the right half has a screen. The strange thing is that no other birds do this -- just the female Oriole. I've seen her do it on other occasions as well.

I don't think it has to do with the cat, I have heard of 3 different Oriole sighting that they tap or fly into the window glass. I don't know why.

birds are so mean to cats..thats why cats try to catch them. You see these birds where i live..my cats are just trying to ignore them
