I blame all of the Irish people who continuously voted in Fianna Fail, and gave them a mandate of deregulation despite being exposed as a bunch of corrupt dick heads on several seperate occasions.

In reality the people of the country were never going to vote out a party which oversaw the largest period of growth in the country's history, I bet you voted for them. Am I the only one watching who agrees with him? It's not like Fianna Fail weren't voted in time and again by the Irish people whilst they advocated against banking regulation. Labour had been calling for greater regulation of the banks since 2001. Did they ever get in? No.

What Lenihan is saying may be unpalatable but he speaks the truth. Irish people spent a decade engaging in gluttony and now they must pay for their sins and go on a serious diet, lest a default ruin the Irish economy forever.
